Usually busy and with a line of people waiting to go in and have one of the best 'francesinhas' in Oporto. The downside is just the eventual waiting period, but it is easily forgotten once you start eating. The service is good too. Totally recommend...More

I have eaten at Capa Negra several times and: What can I say, the rissois are the BEST!! The francesinha is very good, by far top 5 in Porto/Gaia in my opinion. Try the rosbife, you will not be disappointed...

If you're looking for a traditional portuguese, look no further. In Capa Negra you'll find a huge place filled with locals eating local, traditional, relatively simple dishes. Everything's cooked really well, which makes it so tasty. Don't expect fine cuisine, or an exquisite atmosphere, but...More

The interiors are not the most elegant and cosy of the city...but if you want to eat the real Porto's francesinha this is the right place in the city.

I've been there more than once and never thought it was good (never went for my own choice). Service could improve a lot, I'm Portuguese and I don't think this is good service. Francesinha is supposed to be a specialty, but you can find much...More

From memory the menu was broad enough to find stuff that would be gluten free (fish, prawns, meat etc).....but I think it would be highly unlikely for the franchesina.
