We passed this place and thought the smells were very good so decided to go for lunch. My husband had sea bream and I had salmon. Both came with potatoes, carrots and cabbage in generous proportions. The fish was very good and nicely cooked. Be warned though that they come with bones so you have to do a bit of... More

we were delighted by nice atmosphere, owner was very friendly and made us feel home!!! we had fish (bacalao) from owen, very nice. red wine was fantastic to this dish. place is small, but cosy. it is rather 'friendly house' not fancy restaurant. fully recommended for "dinner for two'!!

We had dinner here twice - this past week. Busy little street - decor was simple, felt like a family run place - first visit - we had grilled sardines and baked octopus - fabulous! Came with potatoes and olive oil. Second time we came back baked octopus and grilled squid. We enjoyed it for the simplicity of the food... More

I've been in this restaurant with 2 friends for dinner. It was queue at the door and the restaurant looked very busy. Our experience there was really good, I would rather say that the service was just no rushing instead slow. People working there looked like we're doing their job without going crazy. It's a small restaurant with few people... More

Probably other people that came and rated the Bacalhau as "amazing"or "the best of their life" don't eat it very often... It was super grassy and tasteless considering other ones that you can have everywhere in Portugal... we were totally disappointed :(

Very slow, waited an hour for our food to arrive at lunch time. Water didn't arrive with other drinks & was difficult to get the waiter to finally bring it. The grilled squid was tepid & burnt in places. The potatoes were also burnt & the cabbage over cooked & cold. The pork chop was also burnt & cold. By... More

We went to that restaurant as we thought the location was cute. Amongst others, we waited for a while until the waiter comes to us. He was quite rude, tired of turists. Some other people left as none of the 3 waiters gave them any attention. Concerning the food, it was not fantastic at all. We share a plate of... More

With so many restaurants to choose from Ora Viva does not stand out in any way. The staff seem tired and uninterested in making the customers visit an enjoyable one. The food is typical Portuguese fare. It seems the notoriety they have enjoyed lately has made them complacent. Next time I go to Porto I would look for a restaurant... More

This place has a nice vibe to it. We had grilled squid, grilled Portuguese swordfish and açorda, all of which were excellent value for money. This is one of those places that is worth moving away from the Cais.

We chose this restaurant as it appeared to have a better range of traditional food than those restaurants looking out onto the river and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food and the service were excellent and the prices were very reasonable. In terms of service, the young waiter serving my wife's soup spilled a tiny amount onto... More
