We could've lived with being ripped off in this place if we hadn't got sick after a trip here. My friend was vomiting hours after eating their fishcakes, and spent two days in bed with food poisoning. Two days of a four-day trip. Do yourself...a favour and avoid this dirty, overpriced, uninspiring fare. And if your tour guide brings you here, they're almost certainly on the take.More

We loved it! Wonderful codfish ball with a surprise cheese interior and a nice cold port served on a souvenir tray and port glass that you can keep. Interior was Harry Potter decor and open and spacious with great views of the Douro River. The...music was like from an old movie and then there was also an organ player. Very enjoyable time out.More

Sitting outside in like a summer evening experiencing a combination of delicious white port with a fish cake, cheese in the middle which looks like a potato!! Great for our taste buds as an aperitif before heading for dinner! Very nice, friednly service!

Truly bizarre -- buying bacalhau while the organ player plays on! We were a bit tired from the nearby Porto tasting and heard the garish organ recital and looked in to see what was going on. It's a fixed-price event ... pay the cashier and...get a deep-fried bacalhau and a glass of wine, and then climb the stairs to find a bench seat with a small table, and listen to the organ recital. The throughput there is amazing ... there were hundreds of people coming through the doors on a rolling basis, and that's a lot of fish balls to be served! The food was palatable -- certainly not a gourmet experience, but that's OK -- and the organ played on!More

The absolute worst experience we have had in many a journey. Not only was the food and drink 'experience' ridiculously overpricedat 30 Euro for 2 serves, it was tasteless mush served with a very average white port. The picture of the cod ball oozing cheese...on the outside of the establishment is a complete lie. Trust me, do not waste your money, go somewhere else. So many places, so much cheaper and so much better. You have been warned.More

We walked in by chance as we saw this unusual place. We were mesmerised by the place it's a mix of Harry Potter and Mad Hatter. We ordered the codfish coquettes and the most delicious white port. Walked up one of the two stair cases...in awe of what we saw. Found a seat up stairs and were delighted with a mini solo piano concert. The port divine the cod fish delectable the atmosphere sublime. We loved our time there and only left as we had to get to a tour. Thank you for a lovely few hours.More

We were passing by and found the shop very attractive and the smell of pasties de bacalhau very appealing. I think it was quite expensive for a simple pastel de bacalhau, but it was tasty nonetheless.

Spectacular spot for a quick bite. Absolutely loved the bacalao croquettes… a must try!!!! Pair it with a nice wine that comes in an adorable holder or a nice cold beer.

Expensive experience. 15 euros for a glass of Port and a large croquet that was mostly potato and cheese. They say you can keep the glass, but what for if your travelling. Not worth the money . Nice building.....but you can go in to look...around for free.More

Tourist Trap. 2 croquettes and 2 questionably sourced glasses of white port for 25€. No menu or price list around. Don’t bother, walk across the street to the other side of the garden and get a better experience elsewhere. Not sure if you get to...keep the glasses after, but it surely feels like you’ve payed for it.More

The place is in the middle of the touristic Gaia zone. It's very well decorated like a library and an artist plays live music every hour. The pastel de bacalhau is filled with sheep cheese and it was very tasty. On the other hand, the...Porto wine served was disappointing for the €10 that you pay you to expect a lot more. It's interesting that they print the date on the glass, keep in mind that you can take the glass with you! The toilets were not very clean and the tables in the upper part where you sit and enjoy were unserviced.More

Maybe it’s my personal preferences but the taste of the cod cakes was terrible. I’m a fan of cod, so I figured why not. After a couple bites I threw it away. 5 euros down the drain
