Very good food. Service by mister Alvaro was fenomenal. We had a 1/2 dose of codfish with mashed potato’s and mayonnaise in oven and also a 1/2 steak. Both very good. Make sure if you are not too hungry, one dose for one person has...enough food for actually 2 people. Nice location just at beginning of the steps to Bom Jesus. Nice outside part with shadow. Good selection of wines. Recommend it.More

Nice restaurant next to the train to go up to the church of Bom Jesus. We ordered the fried octopus with rice and vegetables and were pleasantly surprised by the presentation and quality of the food. It was different than we expected, but in a...positive way. Staff and ambiance were nice as well. It’s a bit more expensive than general restaurants in Portugal, but definitely worth it! Recommend eating there if you’re visiting Braga.More

It’s always hard to recommend a restaurant when you are the only visitors. We were on our own for at least 30 mins before other guests drifted in and it’s not a small place so there was a distinct lack of atmosphere but we soon...realised that it was just because we were early! However, the food was marvellous, local dishes and flavours, beautifully presented and complimented by some lovely local wines. I have to mention that the attention from the manager was remarkable. He went above and beyond and we can not thank him enough.More

Going back after many years i still tasted good food and tried good wine. Cabrito was, for me, the main reason to go back and i was not disappointed. Good efficient service. Good wine list. Not the cheapest but after some years... who cares?

Located in an old house, the restaurant serves delicious traditional dishes of Portuguese cuisine. The "little goat" is a must Very good service, good wine list.

Great restaurant. I personally love the new atmosphere, but who cares?! This is the greatest Portuguese classic food there is. Traditional Braga families either love or hate the new decor but foodwise it's a tie: it's better than ever!

Located on the way to Bom Jesus. Typical restaurant with terrace during summer. Menu contents wonderful dishes. This time we try soup and rice seafood “soup” or congee. Fantastic taste and prices reasonable. Few years ago I tried the Crab “Sapateira” also excellent. I recommend...strongly. OliviersigMore

We were tempted to visit this restaurant after having ordered many times online home deliveries from it. From this we had namely gathered the food was among the best in Braga when it comes to flavour and quantity. Our visit to this restaurant was in...all a very nice experience. The decor of the restaurant is an old renovated house with quite a luxurious setting. There is a lot of space around the tables, also to fit baby carts etc. We had informed the restaurant we were arriving with a baby and upon arrival we found out the restaurant managers had put us a baby chair for eating, very nice. In all, we had a full Sunday lunch here going from soup to desert and coffee. All dishes are very flavourfull and when it turned out we didn't like one dish due to the part of fish used (neck of the codfish), the owner promptly exchanged our dish prepared in same way but with another part. Overall, the food here is excellent and the service very attentive. I especially liked the wine list in this restaurant, as there is a huge variety with all wine regions of Portugal represented. What is especially good here is that there is a good price spread. You can choose a cheap 10 euro bottle up to more exclusive bottles costing 60 euro, with a large choice in each price region. Anyhow, we opted for a 12 euro priced bottle from the Dão region (red) and it was excellent. Concluding, definitely worth a visit when you are in Braga, not only when visiting Bom Jesus.More

Had dinner here after climbing Bom Jesus in the late afternoon (best light, not too hot). Friendly service, English spoken, good food and not too expensive.

Stopped in after walking down the Bom Jesus do Monte as it is right next to the parking lot. Doesn't look like much from the outside but when you poke your head in the door you see a very elegant dining room with a large...number of wines on display. A quick look a the menu shows that this is a higher class place. Lots of good sounding items of all kinds to try. The owner speaks excellent English and was extremely helpful explaining the dishes and in recommending two local (Duoro) wines that were both outstanding. We finally got to have some cabrito that came with a decent amount of meat (wasn't all bones and sinew). Very tasty. Great vegetable dishes, salads, and starters. The dessert list was long (as one has come to expect - the Portuguese love their dessert it seems). We also got to try a few tastes of things that the owner wanted to show off -- their excellent homemade potato crisps (chips) -- the best we've ever had in Portugal; as well as their salt cod -- to prove it wasn't salty when done right. Again, never had it better. Over all I say you must try here when in Braga.More
