Nothing was too much trouble at this restaurant. The people was very friendly and helpful. Apperitif and truffles really were on the house!

Really cheerful & friendly staff served excellent local food accompanied by sound recommendations from their reasonably priced wine list.

I wrote the first review of this restaurant 15 months ago. At our recent visit it had maintained its excellent service, good food from an interesting menu, and high value for money given the quality of the ingredients and stylish cooking. An excellent dining experience in an area with many restaurants to choose

A lot of thought has gone into creating a modern, stylish and very welcoming restaurant. The Ladies toilets were gorgeous! The service was friendly and efficient. You felt as though nothing was too much trouble. There were 10 in our party and we all enjoyed our meals. We especially appreciated the between-course, complimentary cocktails made with kiwi fruit. They have... More

We ate at L'Osteria Saturday 5th February. Having read the reviews on Trip Advisor we were looking forward to a really good dinning experience. When we arrived all looked promising the place was full. Our reservation had been pencilled in for the wrong time (even though we had email confirmation) and the table settings had been removed this was no... More

A very pleasant experience staff are friendly without being intrusive and the food is very good .It was a little bit quiet when we visited i'm not sure why as it was inexpensive and one of the best meals we have had during this visit to madeira.

It was just across the road from our hotel - we met up with a German couple and had a great night. We were last out, and the staff didn't hurry us at all, despite it being Christmas Eve. I had th etasting Christmas Menu - quality throughout. My wife ate from the menu - her beef dish was superb.... More

If you are staying in the Lido area you MUST go to this restaurant. It has a real small and friendly charm which was very much welcome in Madeira's main hotel area. The staff were friendly and the food was not only great tasting but also great value for money (only €35 for 2 courses ex wine). They also give... More

First ever holiday on my own so preferred eating in smaller places. Based on reviews I had read on Tripadvisor and being quite close to my hotel, I gave it a try.Unpretentious, friendly waiting staff, lovely meal, reasonable price. I particularly liked the little extras, truffle with coffee, little desert drink and no cover charge for bread! Well thought out... More

We go to Madeira every year in October and are always on the look out for new places to eat. One of the reps at our hotel (a local lad who made the reservation for us) recommended this place. As it was a very wet day (flooding in the old town; and the new Queen Elizabeth was in the harbour!)... More
