Traditional Portuguese food, with lovely and friendly staff. We had Arroz com Marisco and I loved it. Lots of king prawns, prawns, oysters, octopus etc. It is a traditional Portuguese dish so it is not a risotto, nor a paella. It looks like a soup, but much better once it is cooled a little. Try it if you fancy it.

We had grilled fish and fist with banana. Both was great but I prefered griled one - it was fish with bone, while the one with banana is deep fried filet and it is too sweet for me. Stuff is very helpful and friendly. 😊

One of the cheapest for the quality in the center. Everybody is very nice and special comment for the boss who speak 6 foreign languages! It's like you re eating fresh Portuguese fish at home.

Recommended by our b&b, very good and well priced resturant. Tables quite close to each other. Very informal and friendly staff. In a cellar so no views. All in all, I would recommend this place

Read all the reviews, mainly really good so decided to visit here. Have to say it was a little disappointing. The restaurant is situated in what appears to be a converted basement so it's probably not the best setting. Staff were really friendly and service was good. We had garlic bread for starter and I have to say it was... More

Came here for lunch after looking around the fish market. Great value local dishes including fish of course. Big portions and good service. Would recommend.

We read good reviews of this restaurant. Where the locals dine.... But be careful of google maps directions ... We ended up at a hospital at the other end of town. Walked to it! When we finally found our way back, it was worth the trip. We were three. I had the cod, my wife the salmon, and my daughter... More

We visited A Bica last time we were in Madeira as it was higher on trip adviser, we were not disappointed again as the food was excellent and service was good. We had not booked so were squeezed into a spare table, knowing the food was plentiful, we shared a starter of mushroom and Garlic, however the tasty garlic bread... More
