Enjoyed a fine dining experience at Villa Cipriani. Superb Michelin quality Italian cuisine, outstanding attentive service, beautiful views over Funchal Bay. Expensive but worth it for a special occasion.

Nice Italian restaurant set within the grounds of Reid's Palace Hotel. We had a balcony table overlooking the sea, very pleasant. We were staying at the Hotel and decided to try this restaurant. No complaints in any way, choice of food was good, food was cooked correctly and staff were friendly.

Having not booked, and only just arrived on the island, we called in here on the chance of a table. The restaurant was virtually empty when we entered but were told they had one table free. This seemed a bit odd but before our second course was served nearly all the tables were occupied and the atmosphere was very good.... More

A few steps away from Reids Hotel (it is a part ) and up some stairs (no lift) is the Villa Cipriani. Yes, it is expensive but the quality of the food is exceptional. Again, it is no good going in summer beach gear, you will politely be shown the door, but dress up, take your credit cards, and enjoy!... More

Villa Cipriani never fails to deliver in terms of the quality and presentation of food. The service and professionalism of staff is also to be commended. Highly recommended.

We ate twice at Villa Cipriani during our recent stay at the adjoining Reid's Palace. The staff are superb and my wife and I both loved the food which was beautifully prepared and presented. In particular my wife loved the cannelloni starter with super thin pasta.

You get treated like a Lord here - the staff are great and really pamper you. It's not cheap though, but well worth the money.

Food ok but nothing more, uninspired lefthand cooking with excellent ingredients. Very friendly personnel but not very good service. Get off your high horses and start to deliver; in the kitchen and on the floor.

Yes it was good, lovely setting but...... it somehow didn't deliver the wow meal that we expected. Couldn't really fault it, just couldn't rave about it and it wasn't cheap. Service was excellent as was the sommelier.
