My husband and I have been visiting Madeira on a yearly basis for the past 15 years. The past 10 years we have been regular customers at the Casa Italia. The pizzas are enormous, very tasty and a reasonable price. You can also have just half a pizza and mixed salad, incredible value at 5.euros. I had spaghetti carbonara with... More

Went here last night to have some pizza and pasta. Ordered a vegetarian pizza (with some anchovies) plus a Gorgonzola pasta . Both meals were great. Unfortunately, when the bill arrived they had charged €3 extra just for a few additional anchovies on the pizza. Given the cost of the whole pizza was €9.50 - this separate & additional charge... Had dinner at Casa Italia last week because it was just across the road from our hotel, and reviewed well. We both had bruschetta to start with, followed by different pizzas. All the food was very disappointing. The bruschetta was very oily, and the bread burnt. Both the pizzas were incredibly bland and had bases so dry (like cardboard) they... More

Lovely lunch half pizza and half salad, great value and great wine. Fab service can't fault it. Close to local hotels. Give it a try.

Food was OK, service was a little rushed but this is a popular tourist restaurant. Good for pizza or simple pasta as long as you don't want anything too authentic.

We were so impressed with the pizzas that we returned on the last day of our holiday to have pasta. This restaurant competes with many of the upmarket Italians close by and does it very well, you may not have wonderful views of the sea but the food is excellent and they give you good portions at a very reasonable... Visited on arrival in Funchal as near our hotel. Setting is ok and service prompt even if the waiter was a bit grumpy. The food was reasonably good, better than most other Italians in the area and good value

Reasonable selection of pizza and pasta dishes. Main selling point is the price. Pizza around 10 euros, plus a beer. Pizza was very filling (I had the gostosa.....meat feast essentially). Some of the staff were fairly grumpy and didn't say much or smile but definitely still worth a visit as the food was very tasty.

A very busy Italian on a side road toward the lido area, which when we arrived around 8pm was absolutely packed. A female member of staff showed us to the last spare table, but without any kind of welcome or smile! When she came to take the order and I asked if I could have banana as an extra topping... More

We ate here 3 times during our holiday and had lovely meals, the pasta dishes, pizzas and salads were all freshly made and delicious. We sat outside making the most of the lovely warm evenings. The staff are friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Our daughter was thrilled with the bambino pizza which comes with 2 rabbit dough ears... More
