Our last night and just round the corner the menu looked inviting so we popped in. Good set menu and very reasonable but we didn't want 3 courses so chose a la carte. There is a very good selection we alll enjoyed our choice.

Lovely meal from the set menu - ridiculously cheap but excellent quality! Veg soup, steak in Madeira sauce and dessert for 10 euros -amazing! Very pleasant staff and nice setting in restaurant. Been eating out in Funchal for past six days and this is by far the best! Wish we!d found it sooner!

This is on of my favourite restaurants on Funchal. Always excellent service and happy staff. The food is also very good and the prices are just right. I will always eat here at least two dinners on my Funchal holidays.

Tired of fine dining, but looking for something better than a burger joint with football on a big screen? This is a really competent, friendly, reasonably-priced restaurant with an extensive menu and very well-cooked homemade food. Good for kids, and for anyone who is hungry and doesn't object to paper napkins. We had the Menu Touristique, and for 34 euros... More

Something for everything at La Bamba - Portuguese, Italian and Mexican. Quite an extensive menu so if you're a fussy eater this might be a good place for you. My husband wanted a slight variation on his order and this was no problem, food and service ok. I had mushroom ravioli and it was very good.

Lovely place. We had a Pizza and it was so fresh! Reasonable pricing to we came in the early afternoon so there wasn't that many people around however as long as the food is good who cares? :) Thank you for your delicious pizza xx

Ate here because it was next to the hotel. The food was ok and was reasonably priced.however, when asking for dessert (ice cream), we were brought a wrapped sandwich wafer on a plate. The drinks are horrendously overpriced, 4.60 for a pint and 3.95 for a house white glass. Not recommended.

The owner of this restaurant clearly loves his food. I had the espatada (beef pieces on a skewer, which was a real laurel bay stick), served with a huge glass of red wine. On another occasion, I had a delicious risotto. Meals are mostly Italian, pizzas etc, and mid-range price. There is a Turistica menu, offering typical Portugese food at... More

Me and my friend loved the people and service! We had dinner at La Bamba two times. Ordered spaghetti, steak, cake and ice cream. We love the Madeira garlic bread! Jeg og venninna mi elsket eieren av restauranten og servicen! Vi spiste middag to ganger på La Bamba. Vi bestilte spaghetti, biff, kake og is. Vi elsker hvitløksbrødet man får... More

I would highly recommend the BBQ beef skewered on bay sticks - we didn't have anything else so this review is based enitrely on one dish! It's so delicious. The restaurant itself is relaxed with friendly service. (But don't have the house wine!)

Thank JeCCTn
