This is where the Waitrose set go to dine. There is an air of sophistication here: The room has a wonderful olde worlde charm with exposed stonework and exposed beams. Savour the ambience during the hour long wait before your starter arrives. We were on the premium wines upgrade but served cheap plonk, including white wine being served at room... More

We booked the tasting menu for our major wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time including a very kind extra celebration course. The fabulous food and wine were a tour of the island topped off by highly professional service. So good was the evening, we returned for our last night in Funchal.

Greeted by a lovely atmosphere as you step inside this restaurant, amazing original wooden beams and stone walls. We had the extra value menu and a couple of glasses of wine each and bottle of water: - starters: mackerel sashimi and crispy scampi - mains: low temperature pork belly and fillet smoked sea bass on beautiful mushroom risotto - deserts:... Can't fault this restaurant but it just wasn't what we were looking for. Our fault, as we should have researched it before visiting. We sat in a lovely old room with well set tables very spread out. Staff were extremely professional and overall this was a fine dining experience that many people would love. Food was well presented and typical... More

"The worst part of the evening for me, was when there were people smoking in the outside area and the smoke came into the restaurant. There are tables set up in the entrance passage way and I guess that guests are able to smoke at their tables (I did not check this out). I think it would be best if... More

We have been here every year for the past 3 years. Valentines was a set menu and not everyone enjoyed it. However I am sure the usual menu is still as good. Bit dissatisfied with the valentines but would still go back!

This is a restaurant that we always go to when we visit Funchal. One of our favourite restaurants in Funchal, the lunch time menu is extremely good value. Staff are friendly and take care of their customers. Highly recommended
