The George & Dragon

Location and contact

A traditional country pub, in a idyllic surrounding. Set in the peaceful village of Chacombe, the George and Dragon is only 1 mile from junction 11 of the M40. The George and dragon is the perfect place for all occasions, whether it be for entertaining corporate lunches during the day, cosy dinners, family get togethers or a drink with your friends. The pub dates back to the 17th century and still has original beams and fire places. During an extension 20 years ago a hidden well was discovered, which has long become a big attraction of the pub, along with the unique brass bar. There is a large patio area which can seat up to 40 people during the long and thirsty summer months.

HAvent been there for a few months. Staff are welcoming and friendly and food good. Not much choice for vegetarians and wondering if the chips are vegetarian friendly. Otherwise a lovely venue for my special needs daughter and I with entourage to meet byt expensive

Just finished lunch , and after having such delicious and enjoyable starters the main meals were rather disappointing. We had fish and chips and the cod portions were all over cooked and dry, and rather small. The mushy peas were far too sweet. Finished with...More

This is a lovely old pub in a quaint village. They have a nice restaurant which serves a good selection of better than normal pub favourites. Highly recommended.

Ate here for lunch with a friend. The food was nice and I had a ciabatta which was good but the main reason I would return was the service. The helpful lady behind the bar and the wait staff are incredible. Will definitely return

Never heard of Chacombe, but was looking for a pub halfway between Warwick and Milton Keynes. Location fitted the bill, so we met at the George & Dragon. And we were so glad that we did. Yes, it's off the beaten track but just outside...More

Decent food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere make for a good country pub. A bit more variety on the menu would have made for a better second visit but that apart it is well worth a try

We turned up without a booking and were accommodated on a Friday night. The mains were really well cooked and full of flavour. I recommend the chocolate brownie. A special mention for the young waitress who gave exceptionally good service on a very busy night...More
