I wasn't very hungry, so I just had soup and their mulled wine. Both were excellent! That mulled wine was so delicious that I had to stop myself at 3 glasses. There is also a wonderful outdoor seating area that has a nice view of the old town. They have a fairly extensive menu, from snacks, to shared cheese-meat-olive boards, to customary cultural desserts and small eats, to soup and sandwiches. They have a fairly large selection of wines. I think you would be pretty happy coming here regardless of what your appetite is.

We stopped into this restaurant on a cold March afternoon because it looked warm and inviting. It was! Our hostess Christina was attentive, friendly, funny. The food and wine was delicious. I plan to return to Sintra in the future and will definitely stop here again. Highly recommended!

We stopped for lunch in Sintra village after visiting Palace Pena. In addition to a friendly, efficient, and English speaking staff, this small place has a lengthy, diverse menu (meats, cheeses, salads, breads), and a lengthy, diverse list of Portugese wines. We had Porco Pretto (like chorizo, grilled on open flame in front of us) and substantial salad (arugula, cherry tomatoes, pears, dates, blue cheese), plus two inexpensive glasses of Duoro red wines. Highly recommended.

We were served some sweet potatoes that had gone bad, not tasting well, rotten. We did not eat them. The waiter explained that it was probably because on that day they were not having their regular cook ! Regardless we were charged for the rotten potatoes !
The price of a glass of wine is the double you usually pay in Madrid or Lisbon for similar wine.

Visiting the Loja do Vinho wine bar is a perfect way to cap off a tour visit to Sintra's Pena Palace! We ordered the Prova de Vinhos Generosos Wines Tasting, which consisted of samples of three different wines - a Porto, a Madeira and a Moscatel. Jennie was a superb host who not only served us these samples, but also expertly explained each wine as we tasted them. Jennie's explanations really made this wine tasting quite memorable. The cost was quite reasonable, at only 10 euros each for thi specific tasting. I highly recommend Lojo do Vinho as a great way to top off a visit to Sintra, even if you are on a tour and have a limited amount of time to return to your tour bus. Thanks to Jennie for a very memorable experience!

I can not say enough about the Loja do Vinho! We were travel weary and arrived late to Sintra due to every kind of minor inconvenience a person can image. Convinced we would likely have to go to bed hungry to round out the experience of the day. All of the restaurants in the square had stopped serving but because Christian and Daniel are saints they sat us down at a table and fed us. We ordered some delicious sandwiches, the mozzarella with basil yogurt sauce was excellent. The restaurant it self is very cool. It’s small with an irregular shape with a clear floor that looks down into the cellar and rustic decor that makes me feel like I’ve gone back in time. There is a beautiful breeze, it’s a great spot for people watching and all of the staff was lovely. I will be going back during my trip!

Lunch on a sunny afternoon having returned from a visit to Pena Palace. We sat just inside the door in a pretty corner. Our server was friendly, efficient and very patient. Our food was wonderful (lots of cheese and meat boards, hummus and bread), the beer overflowing (check the size of the beer before you order) and the wine light and fruity as requested. We had left-overs which our server wrapped up for us to take away. If I lived in this area I would visit often. Loved it.

After wandering around for about half an hour we finally landed in this spot and were pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic, the waitress being so knowledgable on the wines and ports that they served and we were so happy with what she recommended.
I had the poached eggs with peas and sausage with a side of sweet potatoes. They were both delicious with some tasty spices and subtle flavours of the potatoes which were a mix of sweet potatoes and white.
I had 27 wines port and savoured every mouthful whilst my friend had a beautiful red and ended up having a second glass it was so good.
A lot of snack like foods here but you can still have a proper evening meal by adding a few things together and be very satisfied. With some slight tempting we decided to share a Sintra traditional cake also, not really to our taste but a perfect pastry all the same. Nothing beats the custard tart!

I was given a allergy table to review what I was able to eat which didn’t include gluten. I ordered a dish which I requested to the waiter to remove the toast, we went back and forth so I could make it clear, no bread. The dish then appeared with toast on the side as well as the cheese being served on bread.
We also had to request for our drinks to arrive that were forgotten as well as some food.
The sangria was nice.

I was alone in Sintra for an evening, so I decided to try to get a wine tasting (non-port wine that is). A young guy and a lady were working there tonight and when I told him I was interested in dry red wines, he showed me the driest wine from the 5 or 6 regions they serve from. I asked about a tasting flight and he said theses were only for Port wine, so I ordered a charcuterie board and a glass from the first region.
I finished the first glass and got a glass from the second region, a merlot, which surprised me. Very nice. After I had finished the merlot and the board, the lady asked if I wanted a port tasting. I told her that I'm not a fan of super sweet wine, so she gave me a detailed lesson on Port wine and how length in a barrel can make a lot of difference in sweetness. So I ordered a flight of 3.
Well, she took pity on my palate and pulled a 20 year old super sweet one and substituted a different 20 year old that wasn't as sweet from a different tasting list. Made all the difference.
So, great food, great selection of wines and fantastic willingness to make the customer satisfied.

After a day trip to Castela dos Mouros and Pena Palace, my friend and I, in the charming town of Sintra, skipped a long line to some popular dessert place and got that same dessert with no wait at Loja do Vinho. Said dessert was called Travessiero (delicious local treat) and we had two sandwiches (very good) and two glasses of wine (excellent- I had the Carm DOC,) and the service was fantastic, friendly and familiar (Ricardo was our wonderful waiter.) Definitely check this place out! Unless you like to wait in lines…

Great little place in Sintra. Charcuterie was delicious as was the wine. We had the Traditional Tasting with ham, Portuguese sausage, and 2 types of cheese. It also came with bread, 2 types of jam, walnuts and a glass of wine for each of us. Filling and very tasty.
Anna served us as well as numerous other guests. She was gracious and welcoming and a definite star for the store.

After a day of castles and palaces, we needed a glass of wine and a place to rest up for more adventure. We found this lovely small spot right on the town square and enjoyed wine, food and a delightful atmosphere provided by Christina and her young and energetic team. Int was warm and friendly service and an array of small plates featuring sausages, cheeses, olives and smiles al prepared right before our thankful gazes. We liked it so much, we went back a few hours later...as will you !

We were searching around the town looking to have authentic Portuguese experience. Most restaurants were about to take a break or had terrible reviews. We were welcomed by friendliest owner and seated immediately. Presentation & explanation of each dish ordered was awesome! For the quality & quantity of the food, it was very reasonably priced, especially compared to neighboring restaurant.

We stopped at Lola do Vinho, in Praca da Republica, for some wine and Portuguese Tapas and we were not disappointed. We chose and shared the meat and cheese platter which was perfect for our needs. The platter was well presented and the quantity was good for both of us. We had Vinho Verde to accompany. Our recommendation is to buy wine by the bottle even if it means you take some away with you. It is much cheaper this way. Very nice staff to help us. They speak several languages which helps in this central tourist location. Sintra is a large tourist area and even in mid July it was very busy.
