The wait was short but well worth it. We had a coffee and their specialty pastry was absolutely amazing. We also bought pastries to takeout and they are super as well. Not to be missed when in Sintra

Great espresso drinks, hot chocolate, pastries, and simple croissant sandwiches. What a treat to have gluten free pastries as well. Highly recommend!
We arrived in Sintra early and Piriquita tempted us in. The weather was cold so a chance to have a hot drink and a pastry was welcome. The cafe was not busy when we arrived and the staff were really helpful in picking out some...speciality pastries to try. 5 minutes later and the cafe was full, so we timed our arrival well. The food was so delicious and the tea and coffee was great too. A lovely place to start the day.More
They serve the same sweets as Piriquita 1 but have no table service, so you can take it to your table. They have a terrace (meaning some people were smoking). So it's not quite as charming as the lower shop, but it's a good option...if the lower one is too crowded.More
Our continued appreciation of the Portuguese pastry showed no signs of slowing down in Sintra as we carefully selected 5 pastries for our lunch time treat. We then sat outside the palace and demolished them with reckless abandon. As always they went down very well...and are highly recommended.More
Nice little pit stop for coffee and the traditional cake of Sintra - Travesseiro. Table service was a little shambolic though; I was sat at a table for quite a while without being acknowledged. The waiter saw me sitting there but tried to avoid making...eye contact. After a few minutes I got up and went to the counter to ask for a menu, after that service was pretty quick. I also wanted some tap water, but the waiter flew away so quickly I didn’t get a chance to ask! So again I had to go up to the counter to ask for the water. Coffee was good, and the cake was lovely. First impressions weren’t good due to poor customer service, but I enjoyed my cake.More
Great place. Good quality French patisseries and local cakes. Lovely staff. Clean and pleasant environment.
One of Sintra’s oldest bakeries, here one can buy all the local staples and it’s definitely worth sampling pretty much all of them, maybe throughout the day while hiking the nearby hills. Travesseiros and queijadas are the unmissable favorites and while they are all super...tasty, they are certainly a sugar overload.More
Visited on a Friday afternoon during a tour. Tried a travesseiro dessert per our guide's recommendation. Ordered the traditional with almond and cream. I didn't particularly enjoy it, but my husband did. The restaurant itself was very cute, clean, and also had indoor seating.
Our guide showed us this place and said that there we can try a special local cookie from Sintra. Here it is, on the photo! Very delicious, soft and sweet. Just try ;)
old world atmosphere - amazing pastries. This place is authentically old fashioned without any pretence - try the travesseiros - heavenly!
The waitress was extremely rude and impolite, putting us off of getting more sweets.we had a nutella traveseiro and a white coffe for 3 euros.tomamos un traveseiro de nutella y café con leche por tres euros en el periquita 2. Camarera desagradable.
Yummy pastel de Sintra from here, good to taste this vs. the Nata. This one was apple filled. It was also on “Somebody Feed Phil.”
Clean, prompt service in these difficult times. Pastries the best. Nice undercover area. Pavement outside being refurbished in the street so be careful.
Before leaving Sintra, we couldn't miss visiting Piriquita ... The place is packed, and for one reason: everything there is delicious. The classic is the Travesseiro de Sintra, but there are so many other options that I really wanted to eat one of each... Unfortunately,...they are not exactly friendly, and a little bit confusing (they brought some things we didn't order), but it is worth anyway!More
