The food here was delightful and the service was superb. Our waiter was very helpful and although there was no English menus, he offered to translate it for us. He then tried to keep our four year old entertained whenever he passed. Excellent food, reasonable prices, great service.

It's (almost always) quieter than Periquita I, but with the same nice service and incredible pastry. Specially in Winter, is quite enjoyable to eat a "travesseiro" with a nice cup of tea.

If in Sintra, and if you like fine pastries you must go to Piriquita and taste a "travesseiro de Sintra". You'll probably have to wait in line but it is worth the time spent waiting.

Wow!! What a cool place! Yeah, you need to stay in line in order to receive your desert, but it is worth it!! We tried 5 type of different deserts, and they were all amazing. Never ate anything better in all Sintra and Lisboa! When you enter, it will be probably very crowded, you need to get a waiting ticket,... More

Piriquita I is the original but this place is still great and much less crowded. Mostly locals and fewer tourists that have found the II just a few meters away up on the road.

I came here as I had some time to kill. I came to the 'Piriquita II' (round the corner from the main branch) as it had a nice shaded terrace area and was much quieter. The terrace was very relaxed place to sit and enjoy. I ordered a coffee with milk and a travasseiro and was pleasantly surprised - I... More

Recommended by a Portuguese colleague we made a visit after our descent from the castle. Great array of speciality cakes including the famous queijadas. Service friendly and efficient.

The pastries were sensational, as they are on their sixth generation of family ownership. If you can, try to push past the take-away line (many cruise ship parties) and find an empty table to relax and have a few cakes!. The only reason this is not 5 stars is the size was very small and the lines rather long, so... More

This the best place to eat "Travesseiros" (one of the traditional cakes from Sintra). They have opened a second cafe a few steps from the original one, but I always prefer the older one. You need to wait in order to find a table and seat, but take away takes even more time.
