The warm almond roll cakes are the house specialty and were good, but my white coffee was tepid. The 'hot' milk brought in the jug was just warm. When we asked for the bill it took a long time to arrive. I didn't find the service to be friendly or even mildly warm, until we got to the cash register... More

When in Sintra, you should stop at Piriquita and try their "travesseiros" and "queijadas". Take some home as well

By far one of the best pastries I've ever had.. a slightly crispy pastry with the a soft center with the most delicate custard.. it's amazing.. getting a craving as I type this!!

I had to try both Pastel de Sintra and Queijadas! And I am sure this was the right place to do this 'cause everything was very fresh and yummy! Loved Queijadas, pastel de Sintra was very good but "over sweet"!

We went to Sintra on tour and after our tour Jaime our guide introduced us to this place to try the pastries. I tried the really old recipe one with cinnamon and cheese (can't remember the name) but it was so delicious I had to buy more! My hubs tried the other not so old recipe one (with almond and... Delicious and fresh cakes and pastries. A definite must to drop in. Very crowded so take a queue number. Be patient and service is friendly. The almond pastry rolls are the famed choice. I loved the coconut cupcakes too.

Very busy pastry stop in the middle of Sintra village. We tried the pastries and liked them. They had a little different taste than the typical ones in Lisbon as these had an apple filling. The custard filling is available as well.

I took the Tuk tuk from Belem across the high way to Sintra ... yes!Tuk Tuk from Belem! It was a crazy hilarious journey on the highway on a Tuk tuk. The driver took me here and ordered a piece of pillow like sugar raised puff pastry filled with custard and a piece of mini Egg tart. The texture surprises... More

Yes the pillow pastries are good though a bit too sweet. The chicken empadas were great though, as well as the hot chocolate. Affordable too.

Piriquita is a popular pastry shop and restaurant in the beautiful town of Sintra. We were recommended by our guide to visit it. A big thanks to him for recommending this wonderful place. The cafe is small and beautiful, loved the amazing tile work on the walls. As Piriquita is very popular, it is always busy and filled with people.... More
