Our guide told us that the place sells traditional 2 types of bakeries. Of course we were unable to keep the names. We were discussing and suddenly my daughter just asked 'which one is the traditional ones'. He served us right. Tastes very nice.

It's easy to eat the same thing everywhere in Portugal - sardines, cod, boiled potatoes and clams. You have to go a little deeper to find the regional specialties. That goes for desserts, which are fantastic. In Lisbon, start with the pasteis de nata and...More

I can’t believe how cheap the cakes were, there is so much choice and every single thing we tried tasted divine. This is a must visit and as such it can get quite busy very quickly.

A well know cafe in the center of the town of Sintra famous for its pillow pastries and cakes . The pastries were delicious and the coffee was great . We ate there and got some take away for later.

The Travesseiros and the Queijados de Sintra are famous in Sintra and one of the best places to try this is at this pasteleria. You take a token as you enter the shop and so it is pretty well organised. May be crowded at times.

We were encouraged by our driver to try 2 of the famous desserts of Sintra at Piriquita II. A short walk up the hill from the National Palace. Look over the display case before sitting down. I have all ready forgotten the pastry names, but...More
