definitely a skip. we went there to celebrate our anniversary, the dishes we wanted, even tho they were listed on the menu, weren’t available, the waiter was overall rude, not a friendly place overall in my opinion

Came here on the recommendation of our friendly hotel front desk receptionist. Amazing service! The hosts spoke good English and took the time to explain the dishes. All dishes tasted exquisite and cooked to perfection. Great value for money. We ordered an entree and two...mains but was so full we couldn’t eat any dessert which was a shame as it looked like a great selection. Highly recommend if you want to eat like a local.More
Good value for money! Good food. We had mussels and pork cheeks. Both were very well made. The pork was very tender. We paid less than 50 euros for dinner for 3 persons including rosé wine, soft drinks and water. White table cloth and friendly...waiters.More
I came to Cantinho de Sao Pedro for dinner as part of a small group touring Portugal. We were the only tourists there. Food was excellent - local/homemade, generously portioned, and priced far lower than expected given the quality. Pedro (the owner) and his family...provided engaging service and offered useful recommendations when asked. Highly recommend.More
They did not have the ones listed on their wine wine list. The veal in cream sauce and mushrooms was so full of gristle and bone that most of the meat was inedible. The pork cheek stew was good. I do not recommend this restaurant...with all the other options available in Sintra.More
The pork cheeks in stew was delicious. The veal in cream sauce with mushrooms was poorly butchered. Almost a third of it was gristle and bone. With the meat being covered, it was difficult to cut it without running into bone. Further, you could not...tell where the gristle was. It was a very good wine.More
Amazing place! Great steak, delicious sangria & amazing staff. The manager shared the best dish advice. Thank you for the best dinner!
Very nice local Portuguese restaurant! Good food, huge portions, friendly service, good prices (two of us ate and shared a litre of wine for 40€). House wine wasn’t the best (my Portuguese boyfriend wasn’t impressed) but still miles better than the wine we have in...the U.K. Full of locals but still felt Covid secure - sanitiser at the entrance and everyone wore masks. Would come back here again.More
This restaurant in Sintra had wonderful food and service for my 18 students, our guide and bus driver. The vegetarian option was outstanding. Plenty of space, still very cozy. We liked the fact that locals were present, not just tourists. High- quality food and ambiance....Beautiful place, highly recommended. It is outside Sintra’ center, so you need a car to get there.More
All in all a good experience. I've been here several times over the years, with varying degrees of satisfaction. It's not 100% typical Portuguese food (they also have Moussaka and stroganoff, for example) but it's more of a Portuguese home-style type of food, to some...extent at least. Last time I was here I had the pork cheeks, which were tasty and in abbundance (came with fries, not on the photo). The staff were nice and service was ok, even though it was a Saturday. I believe overall the quality is ok but maybe adding a bit of salad or vegetables as a side would make the menu lighter and more modern - thus, more appealing.More
We had a really bad experience here. The food was just bad. All the food came waaay to fast to be made fresh. The cannelloni was one of the only vegetarian options and it was awful (the sauce was too sweet and definitely not made...with fresh ingredients). The duck was over cooked and chewy, and even the fries were soggy. Not worth our time or money. They took off one cannelloni off our bill but it was still pricey and the staff was rude about it.More
Great place for lunch. Very rustic, but nicely presented. Our leek soup was tasty. The lunch total for a bread basket, goat cheese, olives soup and 1 draft beer & 1 coke plus 2 leek soup bowls was about 13 Euros. Handy Hint: The bread,...cheese & olives & butter were already on the table when we were placed there. They only charge you for what you eat. Beware! - we couldn’t get Uber to work properly as the so- called free internet was bad.More
My wife and I enjoyed lunch in this traditional restaurant populated almost entirely by locals. Special starter was mussels in garlic sauce. They were the best mussels I have ever had. Better than in Belgium or France or the USA. Mains were pork; well prepared....This spot is well worth a try. Staff is friendly and eager to please.More
This place is one of many good eateries in Portugal. The ambience is good, the service friendly, the portions sufficient for a big hunger and still very reasonable prices. If there is any criticism it would be that the menu fits on one page;-)
We saw them cooking ribs on the outdoor grill when we went to visit S Pedro church... after wandering around and having a Tuk Tuk ride we decided to try it. There was a limited outdoor menu and we chose the ribs and bacon (actually...pork) to share; these were served with salad, rice and deep fried croquette potatoes. All nicely presented and the staff were all friendly and helpful. It was quite noisy and busy with lots of the Tuk Tuk drivers coming in, but we enjoyed this... there is a more formal inside restaurant...More
