We recently spent a couple days in Sintra stopped by Tasca do Xico for an afternoon bite to each. The restaurant is located along a narrow walkway, Rua Arco Do Teixeira, just a couple minutes from the National Palace. Opening hours are 11am to 12am daily. Tasca do Xico has indoor and outdoor seating. Menu features Portuguese cuisine. Prices are... More

Food is oily and definitely not worth the price. Starters – 10 olives, 5 slices of bread and 4 tiny butters cost around €12. Noone warns that it costs anything, it was just reguraly offered. Highly not recommended.

We've found it randomly, but in the end we were really proud about it. The range of prices might not satisfy everyone (it considered as a bit expensive regarding to the quantity of the tapas) but the quality is more than amazing! The wine was extremely good (and cheap I would say), combined with the traditional couvert of olives marinated... More

Perfect for affordable but high quality local cuisine away from the rowdy tour group crowds. The location is great- tucked in an alley but not a far walk from the palace. The service was at times stretched a little thin during the lunch rush but the waitress was working very hard to keep all the customers happy, and the genuine... More

Traditional food, nice to sit outside as it's in a quiet corner of the street. Tried the garlic king prawns, portuguese broad beans with sausage, and cod with garbanzo beans. Great glass of vinho verde here. Prawns were pretty fantastic, the rest of the meal was also tasty.

Come here if you want traditional and good food for reasonable prices. It is a little bit hidden but the calmer it is. We really enjoyed it.

We were looking for a enjoyable place to have lunch trying to escape the tourist traps and bouncer types trying to lure people in their 'authentic Portuguese restaurants'. Wondering around the village we stumbled on this place. Menu looked good with a choice of tapas and meals. We went for tapas. Pastry with cod and porc, porc and shrimps,... All... More

We had lunch there recently. We both had their fish of the day, sea bass. The food was good, without being exceptional.

We ordered bread, olives and a (delicious) octopus salad. With the bread we got some butter and cheese served. 'That's nice' we thought. When we asked for the bill we found out they charged us €10,- for the butter (1.5€ a piece) and cheese! The manager told us that we shouldn't have eaten it. What a way to flip it... More

We sneaked in here during a rain storm. The food was best we had in Sintra - especially the Cataplana (seafood rice). Service was good even though the place was packed.
