We enjoyed an evening meal in this traditional Portuguese restaurant with a great atmosphere. Good choice of local dishes, such as fish dishes, and also some good options for children. Service was brilliant and our waiter was friendly and helpful. Lots of lovely local pastries and cakes on view for the dessert option! Worth tracking this restaurant down as it's... More

This local restaurant offers excellent traditional Portuguese food, everything we ate was delicious, really. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a couple of tables outside which means that we were able to go and have lunch with our dog, this information might not seem significant but it was essential for us since we were traveling with... A bit off the main tourist track, but worth finding. Traditional family run restaurant with wide selection of Portuguese dishes and very friendly service. We ate there twice and could easily have gone several times more to try some of the other dishes we saw people eating and enjoy the local ambience.

As many small, local and good restaurants it is a bit difficult to find. Even taxi driver (from Cascais) needed to ask from locals. It is located behind railways in Sintra. We went there twice which we normally don't do. This was exception because we wanted to eat those dishes other people ate in our group. Our favorites were grilled... More

If you want to avoid potential tourist traps this is the place for you. The menu has a list of traditional Portuguese food. I tried the dish of the day (bolinhos de bacalhau with rice and beans) and it was delicious. I arrived very late for lunch and had no problem to be served. It's 5 minute walk from the... More

This was our first meal in Portugal and I think that it set the bar to a a decent standard. The food perhaps wasn't pushing any boundaries but was tasty and honest cooking at a reasonable price. The bread stew (acorda) which contains fish and prawns looked strange but tasted amazing and is a homely local meal that is definitely... More

With such good reviews about this place, we had expectations about a tasty meal. But our impressions after the visit was not entirely positive. Firstly we had to wait a long time before the food was served. We had ordered kebab, and the meat was ok. The rest of the plate was on the other hand not much to be... More

Located in a neighborhood above the train station, this is a no-frills restaurant with authentic regional cuisine served in large portions and at a reasonable price. We had the goat sausage and pork chops. Both were delicious. I kept dipping the bread into this reddish broth that came with the chops.

We chose this restaurant from google maps. It was very good traditional food and wine. Bit off the beaten track from where we were staying but was worth the walk.

This place is on the wrong side of the tracks...well at least the non-touristy side of the tracks, and serves up some delicious food to local people. We arrived just at the beginning of dinner and I'm sure glad we did because it filled up fast. The food is excellent--simple dishes done exquisitely. I had a traditional goat sausage and... More
