When in Lisbon, try going to eat where the locals go- there is where you will find authentic Portuguese food. This restaurant was great- Had the rabbit stew and it was amazing! They have a great selection of wine. Highly recommended!

We visited Sinal Vermelho on a Saturday night without a reservation. We got there around 8 and snagged one of the last empty tables. We found the restaurant via a Fodor's guidebook and TripAdvisor. It is challenging to find mid-range restaurants in Lisbon with meatless options, as ny partner is a vegetarian. At first glance, this restaurant didn't have any... More

Every time I am in Lisbon I try to go to sinal vermelho. It's an authentic Portuguese restaurant with a flair of a modern cuisine. Even though I speak Portuguese, the waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu and they are very friendly. They all speak English very well and also other languages too. If you are in Lisbon, it's... More

Good food with slow service. The wait for a table was long also. Still, compensated by the flavors of typical Portuguese food cooked close to perfection. Go early and try the John Dory fillet.

We are going there the last 10 years , at least 4 times. It is definitely more expensive but still unbelievable good. The food is excellent , so typical Portuguese and on parallel has a higher quality. The service is perfect , friendly and helpful and they are having very good wines variety. It's a must for Lisbon.

This restaurant is very popular and on my first night people were lining up to get in. I enjoyed my meal here but the service put me off a little and I felt disadvantaged being a solo diner which didn't happen to me anywhere else. Perhaps the waiter was having an off day but I felt that I didn't get... More

Friendly restaurant. The grilled pork is the best we have ever tasted. The cod 'fish cakes' to start were also superb. They also have a very good selection of high quality wine by the glass. If you arrive at about 7.30 pm, there should be no problem getting a table. It starts to fill up after 8.00 pm.
