1 MICHELIN Star: High quality cooking, worth a stop!
An exclusive dining space, occupying a building with a minimalist designer feel in the upper section of the Amália Rodrigues gardens, with stunning views of the Eduardo VII park. Within this context, German chef Joachim Koerper, who has over five decades of experience behind him, conjures up Mediterranean-inspired cuisine with a meticulous and creative touch, based around locally sourced seasonal ingredients. His culinary focus is built around four menus: the “20 years of the Eleven restaurant”, featuring dishes that have marked his career in the different countries he has worked; a seasonal menu; a vegetarian option; and, lastly, the “Lavagante Azul”, which showcases the blue lobster after which it is named. À la carte options are also available. You can’t go wrong whatever you choose, especially with the chef’s signature dishes such as “My day in Singapore’s food market”, prepared with lacquered suckling pig, fried rice, mango and shrimp, or the cassoulet of white asparagus served with teardrop peas and caviar.

Very poor first impressions upon arrival. Young guy with poor fitting clothes, messy hair and un-tucked shirt several sizes too big, greeted us at the door. Friendly guy. Staff were most definitely not trained to be working at a restaurant rated with two Michelin stars. We have dined in One star restaurants and were treated much more professionally. The ambience lighting was not very nice. They had some kind of flood lights that caused a glare in my glasses and I could never relax or enjoy the food and there was not enough light on the other side of the table to see the food correctly. There was one good waiter but several other guys running around that did not appear to have any experience.
It was a very disappointing experience to be dropping €800 for four people. It was my sons 30th birthday and his girlfriend is a professional chef looking to have a special evening. The food was excellent but the service destroyed the experience.
We will never go back.

This restaurant is truly super; I was first invited for lunch by a friend and then invited the enxt day my travel companion. The food is exquisite, beautifully served; the service is impeccable and because it is situated at the edge of the park you have an impression, with huge glass windows, that you are seated in the park. Most warmly recommended and worth the high price.

Wow! What an incredible and memorable meal. Eleven was recommended by a friend when she learned my husband and I were planning a trip to Lisbon. I had not had time to research the restaurant when I made the reservations so did not know quite what to expect. And I certainly did not know it was a Michelin Star restaurant. We were blown away. What a fabulous meal! Our expectations were far and above exceeded. I don't recall how many courses there were only that each one was amazing. At the end of the meal as we were leaving the restaurant, the hostess surprised us with a personally signed copy of Chef Joachim Koerper's beautiful cookbook, Restaurant Eleven. I would highly recommend Restaurant Eleven!

A real disappointment!!! We were worried about the Reservation because we were 30 hours late with the surprise that upon arrival there were only two tables occupied. The meal two tasting menus one lobster and the other normal two glasses of wine and a coke 480 euros
The lobster tasting dish was very sparse, it was like an index finger. Very disappointed, I would never come back. And just like Lisbon I put 5 points to the restaurant eleven I put 1 point

The food was was specular, I had the 50yr career course but felt so neglected that it ruined the whole experience. It took 30 minutes for me to receive a wine menu and at the end when I finished my meal, as a solo person, I was made to sit by myself with no attention from anyone to come ask me if I wanted the check, a coffee, or needed anything.
At a restaurant trying to claim the caliber of their pricing, this lack of attention to their patrons is absolutely inexcusable. I had to angrily go to the front to demand the check before someone came to apologize at last. Incorrigible.I would never expect a restaurant with a Michelin star to have such poor service. I went here to celebrate my 40th birthday and it ruined my evening, for sure worst experience in Lisbon.

We chose Eleven restaurant from the list provided by Michelin Guide based on the fact that Eleven restaurant Internet page presents menu a la carte. We specifically wanted it from 2 main considerations: one of us does not eat fish and should be able to choose some meat dishes and, secondly, since it was dinner, we intended to order few dishes.
To our surprise, upon our arrival, when we were seated, we discovered the only options available were the pre-established menus. Even more, the menus included 3 out of 5 fish courses.
It was too late to leave and reserve another dinner.
So, part of the fish courses were not eaten and part of the rest not fully because it was more than we intended to serve for dinner.
The bathroom is far from a decent 3star restaurant.
The food was very good and tasty insuring a nice gastronomic experience.
The service was good.
However, we felt sort of cheated not receiving what restaurant Internet site advertises for.
I should like to mention that all the other international Michelin restaurants we visited provided menus with the possibility to choose between fish and meat and, definitely, offered what the internet site presented.

This restaurant came highly recommended for a special occasion. As we were in Lisbon on our 36th wedding anniversary, we booked a table and were anticipating a fabulous experience. While the food certainly lived up to our expectations for a Michelin starred restaurant, the service fell short. The hostess was lovely—warm and welcoming and wished us a Happy Anniversary when we arrived.
Once seated though, we waited at least five minutes before anyone approached the table (doesn’t sound like much but felt like forever, especially at a high end establishment such as this!) The menu on that evening had a choice of three tasting menus, all available with wine pairings. We selected the menu the maitre d’ recommended and asked to have the wine pairings included—and were asked (fairly condescendingly) if we knew how wine pairings worked. ?? As I mentioned above, we were celebrating our 36th anniversary—we’re not new to fine dining and don’t believe we look as though we are, so found that puzzling and a little bit insulting. So, our first course came—but no wine. Five minutes went by (again) before we could get anyone’s attention. Frustrating.
Once the sommelier was made aware that we were to receive the pairings (he was not told this until we brought it to his attention), the remainder of the meal went smoothly. Until the end. We finished our dessert course and … nothing. No servers anywhere. No one checking in on us to see how we were doing. Nothing. For 10 minutes. We joked about how we should just get up and leave them with that very large bill, since they didn’t seem too concerned with bringing it to us!
I gave Eleven a 4 rating because the food was amazing, and during the heart of the meal the service was on par with a Michelin starred establishment. But the beginning and end were really quite disappointing and frustrating and left us with a negative impression. The lack of attention to detail in the service that we experienced isn’t acceptable at a restaurant of this caliber.

Prior to reserving a table I had read some poor reviews from six months ago and also some excellent reviews more recently.
Just arriving at Eleven’s impressive building, all lit up, was impressive. Approaching the entrance door, the receptionist opened it, greeted us by name and took a straight to our table in one seamless move. From entering to being seated at a lovely table with a great view took 20 seconds.
Having been enjoying Michelin restaurants for 45 years, I have a fairly good idea of what constitutes Michelin standards. There is absolutely no doubt that Eleven’s Michelin status is well deserved. Our entire dining experience was interesting, full of surprises, the presentation was exquisite and the evening was lovely.
Added to this, the service was first class, could not have been bettered. We enjoyed the bread course, which was well explained as was every dish when served. The maitre d’ who took our order was particularly helpful with substitutions due to an allergy.
A special thank you to the sommelier. Her advice was absolutely spot on. She had four different Montrachet’s and after some discussion, her recommendation produced one of most enjoyable Montrachet’s recommended for some years. That makes a welcome change. A well curated wine list and the menu choice was remarkable for a Michelin restaurant.

If we have not just arrived from the San Sebastian four-day deliciousness, we would have like Eleven more. It had everything that a Michelin starred restaurant should – well-executed (if slightly fussy) small dishes presented in a long and delicious sequence. The 170 euro menu includes a signed and individually dedicated book the chef – a thoughtful touch and much appreciated and the service throughout dinner was essentially impeccable. So, what the heck is my problem then? I can’t quite put my finger on it. The courses did not seem to tell a story and while individually superb were lacking a certain “continuity of inventiveness” that distinguishes truly great restaurants. There were no surprises, no unexpected ambrosial discoveries – every dish was excellent, but the dinner as a whole was not unforgettable. Now, a few weeks later, I can’t name a single standout memory. I dunno, maybe we’re just spoiled, maybe we were not hungry enough, maybe we were tired – all true, but the fact remains that we both felt that the restaurant is resting on its laurels and needs to work harder on reinventing itself.

We went with my son to celebrate his birthday. The location is nice, also the view but that is all... The service was extremely slow, the ravioli was uncooked and tasteless, and the biggest problem was Wagyu stake one of the three slices was complete FAT. And on the top, when I showed it to the Manager he tried to explain to me that it is normal, and the Wagyu steak is fatty... We left immediately the restaurant without eating dessert and celebrating my son's birthday! Never, ever go back and suggest to take away their Michelin Star forever!

Beautiful food in a stunning venue! The staff were delightfully attentive which you would expect in a Michelin venue however they really went above and beyond with the gorgeous little birthday cake for my Dad's 70th as well as signed cook books and madeleines! We opted for the Eleven tasting menu with wine pairings and it was superb! Well worth the visit!

Located atop the Lisbon’s Amália Rodrigues Gardens, with a beautiful city view, Restaurante Eleven currently sees German born Chef Joachim Koerper celebrating fifty years of professional cooking with a legacy menu featuring his personal favorites across decades in Germany, Spain and Portugal.
Boasting 1* from Michelin and a storied art collection, denizens of Lisbon’s business district frequently seen partaking in lengthy lunches amidst posh environs, it was shortly after noon that that the Restaurant was ready to serve, the €54 prix-fixe to generous to pass up, though the lengthier seasonal menu is also available.
Light and airy across two stories, wood with large windows looking toward the river, it was not long after seating that Bread was presented, a trio of styles each excellent on their own but better with top-tier Butter, Olive Oil and a Spread of smoked Sardines.
Served as three courses sandwiched between Amuse and Mignardises, the former placing fresh Shrimp in fragrant Gazpacho, Koerper’s “Gold Bar” sees silky Liver amidst Plums both natural and manipulated, the Gel intensely sweet while what appears to be a whole Fruit has Confit concealed inside.
Artistic in terms of plating, Red Mullet with Peas and Saffron delicate in terms of taste as well as texture, “My Version of the Pastel de Nata” arrives vertical with all the proper elements plus delicate Coffee Mousse before ending with three treats including a memorable Orange Pate de Fruit.

What an amazing evening. We wanted to experience a Michelin star restaurant while we traveled through Portugal.
I had incredibly high expectations that were exceeded tenfold.
The setting was perfect with amazing views. The staff and service were perfect.
One of our party couldn't eat seafood. They modified her tasting menu to accommodate her without issue.
But the food. WOW!!!
Every morsel of food had so much flavor. I've never experienced anything like that before. I didn't want to leave a crumb.
We even received an autographed copy of Chef Joachim Koerper's cookbook.
It wasn't a meal. It was an event! I will remember and cherish it forever.

Just ate today and found it a very underwhelming experience.
Slow service with gaps. Wish I had researched besides Michelin before coming here. This is not our first Michelin star rated restaurant.
I ordered the vegetarian tasting menu which is to be highly avoided. Bland food. Dessert made me full else was thinking of ordering from the hotel room service. Mushroom Risotto was under cooked.
My son had the meat and fish tasting menu with extra for Wagyu beef which he enjoyed.
Not worth the price and not classy to charge $11 for water and $4 for espresso on top of $350+, we think.
Not coming here again unless something changes.

We went here to celebrate a birthday and expected amazing food (especially since the restaurant has a Michelin star). We were extremely disappointed; with approximately 220 euros spent on each person we felt almost every course was uncreative, and mediocre. We've been to Fortaleza do Guincho (much much better).
