We walked 2 miles up "escadinhas" for this pastelaria. WORTH IT. Their pastel de nata was better than Manteigaria in my opinion. We had their combinado, pao de deus com quiejo/manteiga, pastel de bacalhau and 2 glasses of sumo de laranja. Service was excellent, the server was friendly. Nice stop to have breakfast right before visiting the Castelo de Sao Jorge. The price was totally reasonable it cost us only 7 euros for a delicious meal. Locals and tourists both ate side by side.

(cash only bakery) I was looking for a quick bite to eat before heading to the airport and I found this place, and let me just saY WOW! They had a wonderful selection of baked good and savory items. We got the ham and cheese pastry with tomato, a prosciutto ham and cheese roll up and a sausage roll! It was all so good and still warm from the oven. I decided to get a small dessert pastry as well and it was UNREAL it was some kind of circular milk pastry! The guy who else’s me was soooo nice and helpful always had a smile on his face I told him yo keep the change and he wouldn’t let me!! GO HERE SERIOUS I wish i discovered this place soon i’m sad to be leaving but happy it was on a good note:)

Amazing place to go for breakfast. It is quite cozy, very friendly staff who speak many languages fluently (Portuguese, English and French anyway), delicious baking, both sweet and savory and very affordable. Would definitely recommend!

This small bakery in Alfama is operated by a father son duo who are the nicest people you will come across. They greet each customer with a big smile and really seem to be enjoying what they do. The food itself is really really good and very economically priced. There are plenty of savory and sweet options and everything we had was top notch. They serve fresh orange juice and coffees which are exceptional too. We are in Lisbon for 5 days and will make sure we try all the available options. By far the best bakery of our trip!

We tried some pastries at our first stop at this cute little pasteleria. Without any doubt these were the most freshly hand made pastries we had since a long time! The pão de deus is extra class, but you have to come in the morning otherwise there likely to be sold out already! As a baker myself I can asure you that you get high quality pastries for a really good price! We‘re glad we were able to come back the following days and enjoyed some more sweets there!

A pasteleria not to be missed.
You have a full breakfast with pressed orange juice for €5. Everything is excellent, the sandwiches and the pastries. The boss is very friendly and speaks all languages. We will come back to it during our next visit to Lisbon.

Amazing delicious pasteis de nata ( best we tasted in Lisbon) served by lovely friendly staff. Fantastic value for breakfast- great fresh orange juice, coffee and other sweet and savoury pastries. If staying in Alfama you must go to this brilliant unassuming friendly cafe enjoyed by locals and visitors.

Somewhat hidden away down a sloping side street, Pastelaria Alfama Doce is simply the best bakery in town and a cert for breakfast every day. There is a wide selection of pastries from which to choose - our favourite being the wonderful pastel de nata- and the coffee is excellent. We were based at a hotel nearby and have visited this establishment many times in the past few years, there is always a cheery greeting from the gentleman host who is impressively multi-lingual. Absolutely recommended.

We were introduced to the pasteis de nata of this family business by the Treasures of Lisboa food tour. We were given hot pasteis which are much better than pasteis that have been sitting for an hour, or more. I liked the taste better than more famous, overrun places. Their other pastries and their coffee and hot chocolate are good, too. Plus they are nice people. There are only four tables in this establishment, so you may have to eat standing up (we were able to get a table).

Ordered 2 coffees, 2 freshly squeezed juices, 2 x chocolate croissants, 2 x pastel de Natas and 2 x banana cakes.
All fresh and tasty and less than 9 euros! Staff super friendly even though shop was very busy. Highly recommended!

Standing in line in a massive crowd for Pastéis de nata is not my idea of fun. Especially so, when there is a place near where I am staying in Alfama that is small, run by a friendly local woman, that makes pasteis de nata and many other pastries that are right on par with the big, famous, crazy busy places. Fresh, well prepared, flaky, flavorful pastry made and served by a local. Yes she is busy, but not too busy to carry on a friendly conversation.

A small bar with attached pastry shop. Two guys bending over backwards to meet the client's demands. Courtesy , attention and availability unique. We had breakfast in this place several times during our stay in Lisbon and really deserve a 10 and praise for the goodness of the products for The honesty in the prices and for their availability. Top!

Amazing pastry shop with a large variety of delicious pastries. Their pasteis de nata are second to none, very crispy dough and perfect filling; I also recommend their pasteis de Alfama, delicious with almonds and a runny lemon filling.
The staff are lovely, they treated us like regulars and we went there every day for our breakfast.
Totally recommended!! I already miss my delicious Alfama Doce breakfast now that I'm back home.

Don't miss this superb pastry shop on your way down from the National Pantheon aka Church of Santa Engrácia or São Vicente de Fora to Arco da Rua Augusta. Little pies with cheese and bacon were my favorite and my wife loved natas. The owner told us, You'll come back. 15 minutes after I left her shop with 4 pies I finished all four and ... was back for another four

Best hidden gem in Alfama.
Family run coffee/ pastry shop. The banana bread, mini pizzas and fresh orange were amazing. (Visited for this exact order almost daily).
Everything is home made and the family run staff are very friendly and polite.
The fresh orange juice is used from oranges from a relatives farm in the Algarve.
This is a must visit when in Alfama - we wish they were in Scotland!
