I had the pleasure of visiting ‘A Travessa’ with friends during a recent trip to Lisbon. The restaurant is off the beaten track and without good directions and/or local knowledge could be difficult to find. The entrance is discreet but once inside, the restaurant opens...More

Visited the restaurants with my family in law. The food was ok, nothing special for this price level. However we received no explenation for the starters just appearing on our table. We ordered a bottle of wine in the cheaper categories (30 euro). The waiter...More

We were a group of nine and received a warm welcome. As the evening was quite warm, all guests were served outside in the inner courtyard of what used to be a convent. All guests are served a selection of tapas (oysters optional) and then...More

Just the setting, an old convent, would be enough to deserve 4 stars. With the good weather of Lisbon you will enjoy the cloister in all his beauty. The waiters bring all the starters for you, you can say yes or no to them but...More

Beautiful authentic cloistered surroundings and very confident staff. They know the food is great and just serve the fixed starters as they come without really asking. The mains are a la carte and fabulous. We ate a lot of great food in Lisbon but this...More

From the moment you enter the restored convent, you are whisked away to another world, where old world charm meets traditional yet inventive cuisine, in a warm and inviting environment. The menu is truly Portuguesas so be prepared to eat! I loved it!

Walk on a narrow street and find the door of this amazing restaurant set in an ancient convent. You are welcome by friendly faces in a very homy decor. The main room is furnished like a large dining room with antique furniture and candle lights....More

It,s a great restaurant and would be a romantic spot to propose but I think Casa da Comida is even more romantic and the food and service there are also superb!

When we were told of this restaurant it wasn't mentioned but having eaten there everybody was dressed smartly, I would suggest what people call smart casual, hope this helps
