Fixed list of entrées, meaning that if you didn't actually eat shellfish, you didn't get an alternative. Having said that, the food was very good. The main course menu is a tad "traditional" or old fashioned. Fillêt Mignon? John Dory? I wanted the monkfish but it was only available for two people? The service was splendid and attentive but not... More

In this old monastery they know how to make your night special. Best place if you have something to celebrate or just feel like to be 100% spoiled. The food, the wine, the starters, the dessert, the port, the scenery and the staff they all get 5 out of 5 stars!

As in many Portuguese restaurants, service on drinks, wine, and special requests can be slow. A Travessa is especially chaotic, in a good way, because there are many servers bringing round after round of delicious morsels. This is a pricey restaurant, that round after round of exceptional appetizers is 12.50 Euros per person to start (This is not explained). Some... More

We have been going to Travessa for many years and this time took a group of 19 friends and family, and once again had a superb dinner and a great time together. From the owner's attention when taking orders and suggesting dishes, to the quality of the food and the unique setting, and finally to the large chocolate cake that... More

We had a fantastic evening here. Food was spectacular, staff was warm and friendly, wine list great. Now, be warned, the appetizers come at you fast and furious at the beginning of the meal and are fixed in choice. The main is a la carte. Once you adjust to the pace at the beginning, the meal is perfection. Highly recommended.

I am a NYC foodie through and through with HIGH expectations. A Travessa exceeded all! It is tucked away in a lovely and authentic neighborhood. The outside area of the monastery was gorgeous, and very special. The food WAS AMAZING. We had the starters (worth it) as well as scallops, lamb and risotto. All delicious and memorable! One of the... More

First, let me start by saying this was one of THE two best meals we had in Lisbon. The other being Tagide. We has a great table overlooking the courtyard. Our reservations were at 8:00 and that was on the early side as it got very busy at 9:00. There were different people for different parts of our dinner. One... More

We had dinner at A travessa for my husbands birthday. It was a recommendation from Four Seasons and they were so right. The restaurant is located in a old building and the atmosphere was great , they served a fix appetizer menu with many small dishes, we have decided our main courses. The sole fish was perfect as well the... More

Expensive, offhand service and food is good but old fashioned and heavy - nothing special Gives a good impression of restaurant living on past glories

Leaving in Lisbon, I'm going regularly to the Restaurant Covento Das Bernadas / Travessa. Yesterday, I went there to celebrate a happy event with my daughter. As usual the food is fine and good, the venue is nice (especially if you can get a table outside, on a sunny evening). But even though we arrived quite early, the service was... More
