This was our best dinner is Lisbon. The ambiance, music, drinks, and service were all on point. The food was approachable, delicious, and fun. It was actually really cheap as well, and the small dishes mean you can taste everything. We actually enjoyed this more than the Michellin starred restaurant we visited.

Great food. Busy place so get a reservation in advance. The staff was attentive and helpful. We opted not to do the mystery dinner but it seemed most of the best options from the menu were being served to the couple next to us that did order the mystery meal. I would highly recommend and would have returned if possible but the timing wouldn’t allow for it.

We had a great dinner here. For two people who work in hospitality this was a breathtaking experience. The team is great, especially Rafael (our host for the night). He made sure we were happy at all times, recommended great wines, was genuinely interested in our opinions and was smiling all night.
Quality of both food and drinks were good, we choose the a la carte menu and loved every single dish that we got served.
Thank you so much Mini Bar team!

I was very excited to try this restaurant having read good things about it. I love quirky restaurants and a good tasting menu but unfortunately this was not great.
I selected the epic menu which is €55. The portions of food are very ‘Mini’ indeed. I would not count a slice of apple nor a fancy olive as a course. Whilst the presentation was good and there were some ok elements, the food just wasn’t that nice. In hindsight I wish I had chosen from the a la carte menu as the Epic menu was not very epic.
Our waiter was very friendly but service was a bit haphazard. My partner got her drink straight away whilst I waited about 15 minutes for a glass of wine. We had to ask for cutlery twice. It is also very dark.
It was an experience of sorts but expensive for not a lot of food that didn’t taste that great. There are better options for cheaper, tasty, local food elsewhere.

We chose minibar for my birthday dinner on our weekend break to Lisbon. The atmosphere is great. Decor great. But food is all show and no substance. We chose the epic tasting menus and course after course came out of raw food and ended with a random beef slider and potato heaped in salt. The waitress told us the menu is made up if the most popular dishes in the menu...I highly doubt that raw/undercooked egg in a bowl is a big seller. Raw food is fine but not four courses in a row. Very disappointed and terribly overpriced. A real let down on what was an incredible trip to Lisbon. :(

Really enjoyed the experience at mini bar.
Ambiance was perfect being nice and cosy.
Service was very good apart from right at the beginning when the waitress completely forgot to bring our wine meaning we didn't have a drink for around 15 minutes. Another minor gripe was the fact that drinks choices are only available via an iPad? don't get this idea at all?
For the food we went for the ALC option, it was mostly very good indeed with the highlights being the avocado tempura and the tuna tartar. Least favourite bit was the burger which was very salty and decidedly average in comparison to the rest.
Dessert was chocolate cone... very good.
Thanks for a great evening. x

I have never been in a more pretentious, complicated and expensive restaurant anywhere in the world. Each plate is literally a mouthful of the most average food you can imagine but exquisitely described and presented. Dreadful. On arrival we had to ask for a lamp to be moved from another table so as to be able to read the menu. There are two more tables than there are lamps. On being seated we had a small knife and a pair of tweezers provided as cutlery but these were then removed and we had to eat with our fingers. Three plates of one mouthful each, plus a bottle of wine was 50 euros. The place was maybe a third full at 2030 on a Saturday whereas the two other restaurants were chock a block with people queuing on the street.

My partner and I visited minibar in June and thought the experience was really special,
The restaurant is through a secret door and is decorated like an old theatre. The menu is split into dive acts with numerous mini bites to chose from. The choise was excellent - some Asian, some Portuguese and some other international cuisines to chose from!
Although we didn’t opt for the tasting menu, the staff advised on our choices and served them in the relevant order.
All the food was beautifully presented and well explained by the staff. Naturally as it was a tasting menu, portions were small. I should warn visitors that part of the novelty of the experience is that each mini meal is often a real surprise and not what it seems ! For example, the chicken and avo entree was in fact a crispy piece of chicken skin topped with small dollops of avocado cream.
We were treated to additional desserts (lipstick lollies) and enjoyed very attentive service.
I’d recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys trying new foods and appreciated beautiful presentation - definitely a place to collect “insta-worthy” snaps !

Fantastic dining experience with a twist! Dined here on multiples occasions and each time remains as special as the first. Located in a great district of Lisbon for drinking and eating, mini bar gives you the opportunity to try a theatre style experience with their menus including multiple courses of fun and exciting fresh food. Service is also attentive, helpful and enthusiastic, Highly recommend a visit here! If you do not wish to try the tasting course you can also choose the various dishes from the a la carte menu.

The experience is cool due to the place and atmosphere, but the food is not top notch. The Wellington filet was a total disappointment, very few attendants with poor service. The bullí olives tasted refrigerated and with low quality ingredients. Our waitress did just enough to keep us going but would escape from eye contact every time she could. The late night show was amazing, but I would rather spend that money on a Michelin star restaurant with amazing food and much better service. Forgot to mention the DJ was excellent.

This restaurant is absolutely outstanding and is a must visit. You enter the restaurant through a hidden door within a larger establishment. The setting inside is intimate and unique with comfortable tables all facing the stage.
The food - we chose the tasting menu. The dishes were very creative and innovative and tasted absolutely beautiful.
Staff are highly attentive, acting on all instructions with perfect execution.
Music was very good and added to the overall experience.
Michelin star experience, without a doubt.

A romantic and perfect anniversary dinner. So food we went twice in one week whilst on holiday and we never usually go to the same place twice. This meant we got to sample menus The Debut and The Now On menu. The food was absolutely delicious. Even if there is something in there you don’t like the sound of give it a go. The decor and the graffiti art is beautiful and the setting is wonderful. On our first visit we were privileged to have Adrian as our server and he added so much to the experience. He was so passionate about the food and service he provided, he made you feel like you were the only table he was attending too - even though he looked like the busiest worker in the place. If I worked in hospitality I would headhunt Adrian in the blink of an eye. On our second visit we had two servers but Adrian saw us and still made time to come over and gave us a great recommendation for a winery on the next leg of our road trip. It really was theatrical dining.

Unfortunately this place has really taken a downturn. It used to be one of our favourites in Lisbon. It lost its edge when moving to the new location but now the whole experience feels rushed, touristy and hugely overpriced. Food is still good but service, ambience and cost way off the mark. 35 euro for a few spoonfuls of duck curry…these mains are small tapas dishes! A whole feeling of urgency to get you in and out as fast as possible. What a shame.

We had an absolutely delicious meal here. We had the Epic Tasting menu with wine pairing and course after course was excellent. You know when you turn yourself over to a surprise tasting menu that there will be courses that you enjoy more than others, but with the exception of the tuna tartare (sorry!) every course was a wonderful taste adventure. The wagyu burgers were so amazing. Decor was nice. I would definitely come back!

Absolutely, here's a revised version of your review:
"Our evening at the restaurant fell far short of our expectations. Despite having a reservation for 10:30 PM, we waited for half an hour before being seated. While the ambiance was pleasant with good music, the service was disappointingly slow. Many diners, including ourselves, had to repeatedly signal for assistance, even though numerous tables were empty.
The vegetarian menu was notably inferior to the other options. While one dish was satisfactory, the remainder lacked flavor, with unripe avocado and cold fries further detracting from the experience. By 2:30 AM, we were eager to leave and opted to skip the dessert courses, which seemed similarly uninspiring.
When we expressed our concerns to the staff, their response was a mere apology without any attempt to rectify the situation. If considering a visit, I would advise against booking food and instead suggest enjoying drinks at the bar. Overall, it was a disappointing evening, leaving us feeling tired and disheartened."

Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
