We had our Christmas Day dinner at the Insolito. One of our best dinners ever. Started with the charcuterie plate. It was excellent. Followed up with wrapped duck for starters and sea bass and cod for mains. We are awaiting our desserts. Everything has been...great including cocktails and wine. Way to go Insolito!!!More

I wish I could have come here with just a couple of people - we were such a large group that it was difficult to maneuver around the menu. Although the atmosphere and the service was great - the view is magnificent! I would come...back solo or with just a couple of people to enjoy more of the menu items.More

First decoration is just amazing! Let’s talk about cocktails... I tried the marshmallow one, and seriously I love it! Great advice from the waiter. The food was tasty and very well cooked. The quality of service is casual but professional. With friends, wife, colleagues... this...place is best in town!More

Was highly recommended this restaurant by friends who had tried it before during their stay in Lisbon. The restaurant itself is unique and amazing views which makes it rather special really. Located in a busy and good neighbourhood. Loved the old lift that took us...the the rooftop and liked the open kitchen. The decor is great. The mojitos are top top! The wine is good and almost all of the staff were friendly. One or two less so but it didn’t spoil my evening so not too bothered. Now, my opinion on the food... The menu is excellent and very promising BUT apart from our starters which were excellent and delicious and very creative, I regret to say that the main course was not quite to the same standard. Although still very promising and creative, the meat and fish we chose were over cooked. My lamb brownie was dry and had no sauce to fix that and my cousin’s fish was pretty much the same. It’s a pity because it doesn’t take much to make it perfect. Lamb and cod are delicate ingredients and should be cooked slowly and be moist and flavoursome. There were not unfortunately. The next criticism is that we were asked to free up the table because there were other people waiting to have it. This was not mentioned anywhere nor by staff. I was about to order dessert but had to have it outside instead. Not impressed. Sorry. That said the dessert was good. Had the bom bom which were delicious. Delicate liquid flavours inside. It was pricey but still affordable. I will definitely go back. Hope next time there will be improvement on the main courses and that I won’t be rush away to the terrace to finish my dessert 😉More

We had not booked and after getting tuned away from a few places we were getting anxious -- so getting a table here was a lucky break. The building is cool & quirky (that elevator!) The view is fantastic. The cocktails were lovely. Food was...very interesting and a very decent selection - and my fish was exquisite (Though I was surprised that poor choice for vegetrains. I'd have thought a hip place like this would do better. Not that it mattered to us, but as a comment) Good wine selection, with some interesting portuguese ones It isn't cheap but it isn't expensive for what you get (about €200 for four of us, with cocktails and wine)More

I used to like coming here to ogle at the view. No longer. The portions are so small that we were hungry afterwards. And the view was eclipsed by the cacophony of loud tourists. Given how many great local restaurants there are in Lisbon, this...place alas has become a tourist trap, albeit one with a nice view. Fine for a cocktail but skip dinner.More
