Fado is sad and after 20 minutes you may start to become pessimistic. However it is a must in Lisbon. The accompanying food and wine satisfied us.

We visited in early March, when Portugal introduced emergency measures relating to Covid – 19. Most restaurants had closed, but our hotel managed to find a table here. The Restaurant was empty with only one other table occupied, and on another a rather sad woman-...maybe one of the owners. This is a Fado Restaurant with Portuguese tiling on the walls. Despite the almost lockdown of Lisbon, there was short Fado performance. So well done for trying to keep open. It is difficult to review the food, here, as we were grateful that a restaurant was still open. We did think the food was rather pedestrian, however I did enjoy my Caldo Verde. We also enjoyed the Fado singer. On a further note, we would like to wish all the staff our best wishes with the current Covid -19 emergency measures. Thank you for your good service, we hope you and your families keep safe.More

Very professional Fado experience from a variety of entertainers throughout dinner. Food, in my estimation, was very good and plenty of it. Reasonably priced for what you are provided as far as food and entertainment, in a very comfortable venue.

We have just spent 2 weeks in Portugal in many different parts of the country. In lisbon our hotel suggested this restaurant and show so we could enjoy an evening of traditional Fado music. We were extremely pleased. The restaurant is beautiful. the staff excellent...and the singers were amazing!More

The food was average, the fado show too short (4 songs) and service, meh. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

If you want to experience genuine Fado then this is the place, the 4 singers were top rate! However, the service by our waiter and average food which is very overpriced for what it is (43 euros for seafood rice which was mainly bland rice...and sauce) was a huge let down! The surroundings are very traditional and well looked after but the cuisine does not reflect the standard of venue or entertainment.More

We went to this place which the hotel recommended since it was next to the restaurant where we had dinner. We had a reservation for 11pm to see the fado show and have drinks. The restaurant where we had dinner took a bit long and...we made it at 11:30 instead. They sat us down for drinks but the show was ending pending for another show to start after. We ordered one drink each and after they brought our drinks they walked over with a sign that read €35 per person. We figured it was a cover charge for the show pending to start so we nodded yes. After 15 minutes the show had not resumed and by now was almost midnight, we asked for the check to pay for our drinks but they wanted the €70 for a show that had not started. After not being able to reason with these people to allow us to pay out check for our drinks alone we walked out and the employee follow us with a group of other employees. Did not want to talle to me he said he did not want to speak to a woman. He followed my husband and took out a pocket knife. At this point we just wanted to avoid any injuries and asked for the credit card machine to pay them the drinks and €70 but they said the credit card machine was closed for the night. They did not want to resolve the issue they only wanted to see if my husband would fall into their violence. An older man came out I’m assuming was the owner or manager and was telling us to leave but the employee with the knife did not listen and even stopped a taxi to block us from leaving through the other side. Eventually after a moment of horror I called the hotel and the police by dialing 112 and we were able to walk away and then run to a taxi on the other street with the police still on the phone. Please do not go to this place. This is a rigged criminal establishment that bullies tourist, try to steal your money, and threaten you with violence. I’ve been to 18 countries in Europe and never ever had I experienced something like this.More

The place is very similar to other restaurants in Lisbon with the Fado show. However, I found the prices extremely high for the quality of the food. It is fresh and not bad but it has no wow factor. It is basic Portuguese food that...you can get at half the price elsewhere. The average price at this restaurant is around 35 Euros. A simple rice pudding desert 9.5 Euros. The cappuccino was horrible with half the cup full of whip cream The show does not compensate for the high cost. You can eat much better and listen to Fado in other places and pay way less. Do not recommend this place. it is the typical tourist trapMore

We were on our way to another Fado place and our taxi driver said it was very touristy and got very crowded with your busses. He pointed out another place where he said Portuguese people would go. I know, I know!!! - it could have...been his brother's place. All I know is that whoever owned it, it was great. Fado places ARE expensive so I don't see the point in complaining about that in a review. Be prepared to pay more because you're going to a show and to eat. You're not just going for dinner. I couldn't fault the waiters. They were lovely and very helpful. The food was fabulous. Yes - more expensive than if you stopped at a restaurant, but you're not just going to a restaurant. One thing though - I would recommend the tourist menu if you plan having wine. (Forget it if not having wine). We didn't do that but we ordered extra wine which cost a lot more than if we ordered the tourist menu at least for some of us. The first singer came on with 2 guitarists and she sang 3 songs and then left. Then maybe 10 minutes later another singer came and sang 3 more songs. The break in between was great because we could chat and eat without listening to music/singing all the time. Over the evening we heard 4 singers and at the end all 4 came out together and went to different parts of the room and sang together. Throughout the evening people around us were joining in with the singing so I can only assume they were Portuguese and we were experiencing something traditional. There were 6 of us and we all loved it.More

I just recently traveled to Portugal to have a real experience of Lisbon and was an awesome experience. There were three Singers that are very Professionals and Mr. Natalino de Jesus sang " A estrela da minha vida", and went it deep to the Heart....One of the best experiences of my life.
