We stopped here on a very hot day in Lisbon. A very busy and popular spot, live football on a large screen (they were showing Liverpool v Bournemouth surprisingly) We had drinks and then decided to try the local delicacy of the cod fish cake....Wonderful tasty snack, a fish cake with cheese sauce oozing out. Sounds very unhealthy and probably is, but it tastes good. Friendly staff, plenty of seating inside and out (we sat outside). Inside you will find a large cool building where you can presumably explore the history of beer (we didn't).More

Food and drink was good but service was slow, inattentive and receptionist was downright miserable, and not all food arrived which didn’t even illicit an apology

Nice spot and just stopped for beers. Never been to a bar with such miserable staff. Here in Lisbon for a few days. Would not consider going back here. If you can’t smile or even appear interested I digest you work somewhere else.

This location is very nice inside and at first I was excited to have dinner here. However the waitress started out very curt and rude. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt due to possible language barriers. The last straw was when...I asked about the tins of sardines on display and she rudely snapped that they were "different types of fish" and sarcastically asked if I wanted dessert or coffee for the 2nd or 3rd time when I already said no. If the wait staff isn't prepared to answer questions about products on display for sale, then why are the products out? I said no I was good and didn't need dessert and she never returned. Different wait staff brought my bill and I heard one of them say "American" in a negative tone as he came over. I guess asking questions is taboo in this restaurant. I've never been snubbed by a waitress before for asking a question about a product for sale. I wanted a souvenir for my dad who is over 80, but I guess that was unreasonable to try to buy an item that was on display for sale, the price list was visible....More

Great location, looks really nice. Interior is very interesting, but service not great. No smiles not much of a welcome. Ordered two beers and two fish cakes. Fisk cakes were pleasant, beer also tasted nice, in a very nice looking glass, but husbands came with...a full on lipstick mark on the rim, it put us off a bit. I was surprised they weren’t more apologetic, just a kind of shrug and an “oh” they did get him another, but you kind of think oh how clean is it?? I wouldn’t go back, it feels as though they get so many people with in with passing trade they don’t care as there are plenty more to fill your space.More

We had lunch and did the beer museum tour. The codfish croquettes were delicious and we had a tasty tuna sandwich. The beer museum tour was interesting and came with a great selection of microbrews to choose from. It was quite short but only 7.50...so worth it. The tour guide was interesting and knowledgeable.More

I am a craft been aficionado and, when I travel, I seek out look microbrews. I was excited when I encountered the Lisbon Beer Museum but, in the end, more than a little disappointed. They only had three beers on draught and none of them...looked very exciting. They did have a wide selection of Portuguese microbrews -- more than I thought could exist -- in bottles I tried a couple of bottles of IPA. Both were good, but a little short of international standards. I had a cheese and meat platter while I sampled the beers. The cheeses were really uninspired; one seemed to be a mass-market orange cheddar that is available from every supermarket. The server spoke only rather poor English. On the other hand, the beers here contrasted nicely with the insipid lagers available at most places in Iberia.More

The beer museum is well worth making the time to visit. Able to hear what was said all the time while the host was giving an an in-depth description of the whole process and explaining why beers taste so different. This was followed by lunch...which I would also recommend.More

With all the historical sites and museums to visit in Lisbon, a beer museum seemed a questionable choice. But, my husband loves beer so off we went. The museum is small but covers the earliest known beer and ends with the Portuguese craft beers. Our...tour was led by Diksha. As it was a very small group we could ask lots of questions. She was SO knowledgeable about every aspect of beer making - past and present. At the end of the tour each person has a choice of a (Portuguese) beer to drink. Diksha suggested a beer based on each person's preference. I am not a beer drinker and she even found one I enjoyed. We finished the evening with dinner in the restaurant. Very good food and a nice way to spend our last night in Lisbon. A big thanks to our amazing tour guide - Diksha!More

After a long and tiring day we stopped here for a beer. We were exhausted and usually for us chose somewhere touristy and close to a road. So glad we did. Wow what a place. The beer was great. I ordered fries that were so...good we had 2 portions. The service was good and the waiter a delight. The icing tough was inside. When I return to Lisbon this is where I am having dinner. I'm sure there are plenty of photos online. You'll see what I mean. The beer museum. 5*More

Good beer and bread, very expensive considering the prices of beer in Portugal but a fun gimmick. Service was hard to come by and we had to flag servers down when they were all standing around.

With an ideal location beside the historic praca do commercia, the museum of beer serves a generous selection of Portuguese beer and delicious food. There is no shortage of tables outside, covered by umbrellas and served by attentive staff. Inside, a beautifully adorned dining area...seats patrons for lunch or dinner. The impressive beer selection pairs perfectly with skin-on french fries, a bread basket, and some surprisingly excellent mains, especially a vegetarian-friendly roast cauliflower on a bed of quinoa. If you're visiting the praca do commercia, give this place a try!More
