We were drawn to this tiny wine bar in the heart of the Bairro Alto area because it looked so cozy and they offered local Portugese wine-tasting by the glass. We sat at tables which were converted wine barrels filled with corks and tried several...wines. The wine list is extensive and is divided by region so it was fun trying some new wines. If we hadn't already made a booking elsewhere, we would have stayed longer and ordered some food also. It's is a great place with real character. A lot of the original fixtures from the early 20th century pharmacy have been retained and the glass fronted cabinets are now lined with wines instead of medicines and lotions and potions. It’s in a lively spot and there are several other bars and restaurants in the area.More

What an amazingly cozy place. I was greeted at the door by Jorge. I asked his name because he went beyond kind. He made food and beverage suggestions. The restaurant was super clean, music was lovely, location is good. Food was abundant, good price and...good quality. What else can we expect?More

It is fantastic experience drinking and snacking at the Old Pharmacy. The host is extremely friendly and knows his wines! He recommended a perfect white wine for the hot summer and suggested wonderful snacks. We had pate gourmet and blood sausage. Both are super tasty...and worth every penny! The place has a very chill ambiance, which is perfect for couples and friends.More

me and a friend paid €29 for the wine tasting, we got 3 glasses of wine for that which is quite expensive albeit nice wine. It's a nicely done place and the service was good but I was incredible annoyed when he handed the card...machine to me and had rounded up the amount to include a tip without asking. I would have done that but at my request, instead asked him to reduce the amount back down. He then said to me, 'you can leave now'. Incredible rude man.More

We swung by here for a drink after eating nearby, The atmosphere is cool and the drinks selection is good - especially if you enjoy port as they doing tastings with multiple different types. The staff were friendly enough. The only negatives for me were...that it was quite cramped and the seating wasn't that comfortable, so I wouldn't have been able to stay much longer than we did. The other slight downside (which isn't the bar's fault) is that we were sat by the window and there were constant altercations outside between 2 or 3 different guys which on appearances looked like it could have been about drugs. However we felt safe enough - just put a slight dampener on the evening.More

Had the most fabulous evening, Georges was knowledgeable and helpful without being intrusive. I had the 4 port tasting, husband had 3 red wine tasting and we shared the cheese and meat platter. Ended the evening with a glass of our favourite. Who knew rose...port was so delicious? We would definitely go againMore

The old Pharmacy is one of the best Lisbon wine bars. Rich assortment of the local wine, include Port and Brandy, excellent food and very impressive service. Perfect place to visit and tasty Portuguese wines.

Cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Waiter was very helpful with wine recommendations. Service was efficient. We ordered the almond cake, which was delicious. Very cool vibe, every Portuguese wine you can imagine.

The Old Pharmacy wine bar is fantastic! A fabulous atmosphere, quieter and more intimate than many bars in the area and the most extensive wine list! George, one of the sommeliers was excellent and he was very knowledgeable about the wines and matched perfectly our...tastes and to the cheese we selected. We went here every night for three nights after dinner to finish our evening in relaxed and friendly environment with delicious wines. This is an experience, not to be missed! Thank youMore
