We came here thinking we were going to the other Taberna of a famous chef. We tried both. There is nothing to compare. Food is awesome here, people are nice. Just come and be happy. The place to be.

Amazing food in a charming little restaurant. Menu seems to be changing daily. One of the best meal I had in Lisbon. Had to wait 45 mins at lunch time for a table as a solo traveller. Went for a coffee nearby and came back....Was well worth the wait!More

Heard about this place and it’s exceptional food via a friend and we weren’t disappointed. First time of trying we missed the waiting list. We were advised to arrive about 20/25 minutes before opening time to secure ourselves a table and we did exactly that....Menu changes on a daily basis. Between two of us we had 6 plates of food, 5 mains 1 pudding. Food and service was impeccable. You’ll be hard pushed to find better tapas. Bill for two with a bottle of wine was €110. I say that is exceptional value for money. If you should find yourself in Lisbon then you have to try this place!More

The service was good but not sure about the food, as my experience there was just average. Not sure it’s worth the long wait though!

This was the best food I ate in my whole time in Portugal! It’s a small plate resturant & you do have to be there very early, it only seats a few, so I’d get there for 5:30 with the resturant opening at 6. You...can’t book and they don’t take walk ins there’s two forms of waiting lists so if you don’t get seated the first time you may get a later slot but you have to be there early to even get a slot The scallops were sensational and the staff were keen for you to learn about the food you ate. It’s also only cash ! No card! This is a must when visiting Lisboa!!More

The most charming spot that serves some absolutely delicious food! We decided to try a few of their seafood varieties and also some of their meat options and was honestly met with an ample amount of satisfaction!

Nice small restaurant with tastefull dishes to share. It’s a little bit expensive in our opinion, but we had a good time. Be carefull, they dont take bookings so you have to be there when they open to put your name on the list and...make sure to have a table (but unfortunately most of the time you won’t be able to choose the time)More

I had read some "where to eat in Lisbon" lists and this restaurant was on it, it seemed special. It was indeed very very special, our favorite restaurant in Lisbon, worth going twice on our trip. We had the good fortune of staying in a...hotel across the street so it was easy to run down around 6/6:30 and put our name on the list. They roughly have two seatings and open around 5:30. If you're not in line by 5:45/6 you probably won't make the first seating. This was however what we aimed for, as we just wanted to get on the list for a seating around 8-830, which we achieved twice by showing up and putting our name down around 630. It's better than a normal wait list, the host will tell you specifically when to return. The food is very inventive but with classic Portuguese ingredients. Really the best food we had in Lisbon, and more interesting than the marquee celebrity chef restaurant we went to a few blocks away. A surprising celebration of vegetables given our expectations of "classic" Portuguese cuisine. A blackboard lists a rotating offering of about 6 fish/seafood dishes, 3-4 veggies, 3-4 other meat. Dishes are medium and designed to shared. We have big appetites so ordered 5-6 dishes for 2 people, the staff generally advised against this, but again we are big eaters. We went twice, separated by a day, and about half the menu was new. The scene is lovely, a small humble restaurant but with some classy charming touches. The staff was lovely and spoke english, french, spanish. Later in the night seemed to have slightly better service, with more fastidious plate changes and timing between dishes. My guess is that they cater to a proper european crowd later in the evening and maybe a second chef joins or something, accounting for the better timing and more classic service. They are very in to wine and seem quite knowledgable, we don't care for wine so can't say.More

Got there a bit before 12:00 - when they opened and there was a line already, when they opened the doors, we made it in and thank goodness we did or we would have had to wait for someone to finish - very personalized service,...they come to your table to read the menu and answer any questions-we ordered 2 starters and 2 entrees - they served each item individually and split each entree into individual servings, house white wine was refreshing and light-was quite the treat going there for lunch-food was fabulous and so was the service-will definitely come back when in LisbonMore

What an amazing lunch for our family of 5. This meal was by far the best meal during our 10 day vacation in Portugal. The waitress explained the daily menu on the chalkboard. The razor clams and burnt scallops were highlights, but everything was incredible....We went around 2:30pm so our wait for a table was just 10mins. Highly recommend this little gem.More

We came here three years ago and were blown away by the food and service. I wonder if there's been a change of ownership since then as there was no comparison. The food was OK but not special. Reasonably priced though and still worth a...visit just in case the chef was away that day.More

We were in Lisbon with our son and his fiancé for a short break and had read good reviews of this restaurant. We had to be patient to get a table but were not disappointed. The chalkboard menu is explained in detail and with clarity...by the staff and there is a good range of dishes. We shared seven dishes between the four of us and finished with a dessert. The food was all of exceptional quality having been expertly prepared from locally sourced ingredients - we cannot rate this place highly enough. The dishes were reasonably priced by Lisbon standards and cheap compared to here in the UK. There was a good range of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes to choose from to suit a variety of tastes and the desserts were simply outstanding. Finally, the wine we were served, Chinado, vinho branco, produced I believe, in the Douro region, was the best white wine we've had and was recommended by the very knowledgeable staff member.More

Each dish is an explosion of flavours. The staff is excellent and you can trust on their recommendation of which dishes to go for. We went for a selection of 7 different small plates accompanied by an incredibly delicious white wine. We ordered deserts in...the end and needles to say, it was just perfect. We queued for half an hour outside and it was absolutely worth it, I’d recommend arriving before their opening times to make sure you get a table.More

I would have loved to say we enjoyed this dining experience but unfortunately it fell short of any culinary excellence. The hype around this restaurant is somewhat baffling. From the queuing to secure a booking….waitress quite surly ( however she soften as the night progressed)...…to the overheated spot with cramped tables. Which was tolerable and I guess part of the experience and more than acceptable had the food been great. However the food was disappointing. We had everything on the menu bar 3 dishes so to say that we just chose incorrectly does not apply here. Three dishes were fine but unfortunately nothing stood out…….you know when you put something in your mouth and go ‘wow!!, you need to try this!!!’ Didn’t happen.More

Hi, As mentioned above - its a "First come first serve" basis... its a real small place so you could be waiting in line ... If you want a place where reservations are accepted I would recommend Bairro do Avillez
