The place was crowded in downtown Lisbon . We ordered the big size and the ice cream was really delicious but a bit overpriced for the the quantity they put in each. There a better options in Lisbon not far away

As if we needed more food while in Lisbon! Well worth the stop as recommended by our guide yesterday. Sorbets are magnificent.

This place is super hyped as being one of the best "gelato" places in the world. So on a recent trip to Lisbon, we decided to give it a go...We tried a few of the sorbets (passionfruit and strawberrY), and they were absolutely amazing - I felt like I was eating the fruit.. We then decided to give some of... More

The best, most delicious gelato! This is one of several locations of Santini. It's just steps from the Chiado shopping center in downtown Lisbon. You pay first, telling them how many scoops. Then you proceed to the counter to tell them what flavors. You get two flavors even with the smallest portion - probably more if you order larger portion.... More

One of the best and oldest ice-cream in town. With so many favours ... so natural, you really have to try and not leave Lisbon without experiencing the srawberry one. Believe me, you don´t want to miss this taste in Portugal.

If you do find yourself in the line queuing for some ice cream and you ask yourself if it is worth the wait I will tell you it is. I managed an Italian Gelateria for 3 years and the Hazelnut and Strawberry at this joint are very very good. The combo of the two works well. You just have to... More

Worth the queue (about 15 minutes on a sunny Saturday afternoon). There are English menus when you get near the counter. Would recommend the dulce de leche flavour!

Kind service, great suggestions of combinations of flavours from the employees, as they offer a great variety of them. However, Santini is over priced, and somehow overrated. Even though I grew up eating Santini, I have to admit that their ice cream isn't the best in the world anymore. Not that its flavor or recipe have changed, but the number... More

Santinit's makes wonderful ice creams. Their ice creams compare to anything that I have eaten in Italy. Great choice of favours. They also have a stall in the Dine In Market. Wonderful way to finish off a meal at the market.

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
