We ate a couple of dishes both were great. Grilled octopus and grilled squid and price was reasonable. Note that they bring bread and cheese to the table without it being ordered and charge for it. Make sure you send it away if you don’t...want itMore

The food itself is great : very good seafood , the clams especially. Super value, and some nice wine too. The service is just weird though. Hot and cold; well meaning when you have their attention. The owner (at least I think it was) is...just odd. And finally their card machine apparently “never accepts” foreign cards - why don’t they sort this out with their service provider?! I really resent being sent across the road to draw cash from the expensive ATM.More

My partner and I ate at a couple of highly recommended seafood restaurants in Lisbon. Frade dos Mares was very good and a bit pricey. The octopus was delicious. Ramiro was very pricey with skimpy servings. Big disappointment. Zapata ticked all our boxes. The portions...are generous, the restaurant is very unpretentious, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. Two very full glasses of tasty wine came to 2.80Euro a glass. Where are you going to find that kind of deal? I recommend all the dishes we ordered. Here's what we ate: *Grilled cod (not salty and a very generous portion). Look out for the bones. While cod is not our favorite fish, we felt that it was essential to try it while in a country with a cod obsession. It was lightly seasoned and not overcooked. Still not our favorite fish. *Grilled octopus. You can get a half portion or whole. Scrumptious. *Tiger prawn sold by weight. We had one. Excellent. *Calamari Perfectly prepared. If you don't want the bread and butter, say so up front so you won't be charged for it. The entire bill came to 57.42. including the wine and a 1/2 liter of bottled water. The bill at Ramiro was twice as much and I left hungry. The cod and the octopus come with roast potatoes and a bit of salad. We didn't want potatoes with the calamari so they gave us a fresh salad on the side. We showed up with no reservation and were seated right away with no argument. I'm glad the place hasn't been "discovered" by a foreign celebrity with a tv show. If this wasn't our last night in Madrid. we'd definitely return. It was an easy walk to the metro.More

Great Portuguese food, especially seafood and fish in an unpretentious small restaurant. If you want no frills and authentic food, this is the place to go. The grilled lula ( octopus) was to die for. The fish excellent, the service is good by the restaurant...gets very busy so can be slow if you go closer after 8pm for dinner. Kitchen open 630 pm.More

Randomly stopped here to grab a lunch and had a great experience. Ordered a rice with octopus and shrimp dish, which was recommended to me by the waitor and it was incredible! Very tasty, generous portion - one of the best cooked sea food dishes...I had. Certainly recommend you to have a lunch here!More

Delicious food that felt like you’re home. Restaurant is not fancy but you don’t care because one is too busy enjoying the food

The food was great! For sure you can enjoy the taste and get into the best Portuguese traditional food. The thing is the place was full of people, and table are not placed to ensure social distancing.

Without doubt , one of the finest neighbourhood restaurants i have had the pleasure to dine in. Local folk enjoy predominantly fish dishes, cooked by seasoned chefs who haven’t had to alter a recipe for decades. Amazing value , smashing staff, let’s hope the tourists...in the city centre never find it .More

We stumbled on this restaurant one evening and were extremely pleased with the service, atmosphere and the food. The sardines and squid dishes were out of this world.

I created an account here just to write this review. Best fish and seafood in all of Portugal. Great prices for drinks and food. Incredible staff, overwhelmingly friendly and attentive. Very casual & laid-back atmosphere.

The whole experience was great! The staff is extremely friendly and speaks English well. We got shrimps for starters and these were the best ones in my life! For the main dish I took the tuna steak and my boyfriend sea bass, both of them...were delicious. Besides, we took some lemonade and beer and in the end paid 40€ for all. Highly recommending!More
