Cantinho do Avillez

Ratings and reviews

Certificate of Excellence2015 - 2018 Winner

Location and contact

Located in Chiado, the Cantinho do Avillez restaurant welcomes you with a natural blend of the traditional and the modern. Quality is the priority with Chef Jose Avillez, and so nothing is left to chance. The cuisine, largely Portuguese inspired, is nevertheless influenced by travels abroad. The menu offers a wide choice of appetizers, "pregos" (steak sandwiches), entrees, main dishes and desserts, so that the gastronomic experience can be different at each visit. The service, which is pleasant and informal, contributes to the cheerful and relaxed ambiance.

A very good place. Nothing to elaborate, really. The food is great (and rather diverse), wine selection is good also (and the wines are grouped by their taste profile), service is ok. Recommended.

We wandered in after a recommendation from our apartment provider, and were warmly greeted. Intimate restaurant with great friendly service. If you are wondering what to eat: the lamb tagine was absolutely amazing....melts on your tongue. Best ever. Definitely recommend this great restaurant.

There is a vegetarian menu. My daughter and her boyfriend are both vegetarians and when they were there that’s what they ordered off of.

Apologies for the delay! We just strolled by it and got lucky as we were able to enjoy a drink at the bar and wait for a table. It's super busy though and would recommend booking. I think you can reserve online.
