We made reservations after conducting extensive research, trying to find the most authentic fado available. One critical piece -- do they allow smoking? Amex concierge confirmed that they did not, Trip Advisor reviews state that they do not. We walk in - and its a tiny, tiny place - and there is a man smoking in the middle of the... More

We ordered wine and various tapas that were delicious. The music was fantastic! There were four fado singers that performed, and one was a 90 year old man that sang with such passion. This place felt authentic; it captured the history and romance of fado. It was a small venue that was packed by the time the music started. Reservations... More

First of all, reservation at this place is essential. Without a reservation, please don't even try your luck to go there. The place is small, cozy and easy to make friends with people on the shared table. Sangria is very good, cheese plater is decent too. It's a place to enjoy decent Fado music without a big hole in your... More

We followed a recommendation for authentic down-to-earth Fado, and were not disappointed. It's important to make a reservation, since the place fills to capacity. The food is simple and delicious. The place feels authentic (not a tourist trap) and the prices are modest.

One of the best parts of visiting Lisbon was experiencing the Fado restaurants... truly holes in the wall that served drinks and beer and served an assortment of local cuisine. And A Tasca do Chico did not disappoint. Calling these spots holes in the wall is not meant as an insult. Truly, it's meant to demonstrate the authenticity of the... More

After an evening walking around the Bairro Alto areas bars we finished our Tuesday evening here arriving at about 0030. Shortly after arriving and getting drinks from the bar we sat down toward the back of the room. Just then the front door closed and the lights were turned low. We were treated to some exquisite live fado music. The... More
