I has some squid with ink and local wine. I liked the food ( the squid was super fresh - I guess thanks to the large consumption in this place) and the wine was quite tasty. I would go here again. Recommended !

This is prob one of the best Portuguese (not Indian!) tavern restaurants in the Chiado area. Food is made fresh and honestly you can't find another place where your main dish is under 8€ and beer is 1€. People stand in line outside for a good reason!!

If you want to try authentic Portuguese traditional food while in Bairro Alto this can be the place to go. But be prepared... Portuguese food is not gourmet food where the portions are small and look good to the eye and leave you with an empty stomach. You should only come here if you want to enjoy food like Portuguese... Lets face it, gastronomy in Lisbon is stuck in the 70s and most of the places look like filthy fry-up joints you would expect at the end-of-the-line subway station. For some reason many western tourists, spoiled by their own post-modern gastronomy, are greatly excited by the opportunity to eat like a white-trash miner in a suburban bistro 50 years ago.... More

We lived nearby and saw a line outside and decided to wait for a free table. It does look authentic and very simple - very appealing to us. But the food wasn't that good. I'm not a gourmet, but a salmon drowning in oil and pressed with salt.. And my husband's octopus was pretty saggy.. Just like french fries, they... More

I am not the kind of person living reviews but I am SO SHOCKED to see the good ratings of this place. I went there with some friends a while ago: we waited a lot, the staff was not friendly and the food was nasty... Come on!? I had a cuttlefish that leaked all its ink inside my plate as... More

Let's be honest ... The food in Lisbon is average at best. This was the by far the nicest food we got. Sardines and grilled chicken was very good, half portion of each is more than enough, the piglet was very tasty, as was the squid, ask them for some of their homemade hot sauce to go with it. It's... I came to eat during my stay in Lisbon and was glad to experience it as it started to get very busy. The service was not fast but it was very pleasant and efficient, even busy I was never rushed or hasseled. I order some of the caracois which was superbly seasoned and a portion of grilled Octopus which was... More

Very crowded and noisy, tiny tables, no space to breathe or talk. they serve grilled fish with very little love, shrimps drowning in a lake of oil, squids badly cooked and not cleaned. the dishes were boiling hot and the waiter did not inform us beforehand. Disappointing, go somewhere else. There are lots of nice places in the chiado neighbourhood
