Nice surroundings, good location, friendly staff but over priced and quite average food. Really disappointing

Strange Sunday Brunch, wher eteh only dish on offer was a "Cozido a Portuguesa" (a stew) with all ingredients served separately in a breakfast style self-service style. Very odd and unfortunately, it was missing the essential, the stock. Service was so-so, not very welcoming. I give it a 3 because we might have it a bad day...

Dear customer, We have two kind of sundays, in winter time we have 'Cozido à Portuguesa' wich is what you saw, a very typical plate in Portugal with meat, potatoes and vegetables and we serve it on a buffet so our customers can eat as much as wanted. On summer time we have 'Brunch' that only stars in the middle... More

After strolling around the city centre all day and passing by tons of restaurants with little vegetarian choices we found aura. Excellent location on the square by the sea, perfect for chilling out and relaxing. Good food with a range of choice and great drinks.

It seems a nice restaurant on a perfect location. Its disappointment that the poirtions are small, cold and way overpriced. About the taste of the food i can say nothing special. I would not recommend this place.

Great little spot for cocktails, snacks & coffee!! The cafe is right on the edge of the square, great spot for watching the world go by with a cocktail after a long day on your feet. The menu is ok, not extensive & it is quite expensive but it is in a great location. If you go inside the actual... More

We went out for an anniversary meal, didn't book anything in advance so wandered around the square and found the Aura. Meal was good, staff attentive but not over the top. It was quiet but didn't bother us. The price wasn't cheap, but for us it was a special occasion.

The place is chic, located in a very nice spot of the city. The appetizers were amazing , a very delicious sea bass with potatoes and spinach.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
