We stopped by for a glas of wine and some cheese. The place had a nice vibe to it and the waiters were friendly.

Had a lovely time here drinking wine, sampling cheese and sharing two of their small plates (chicken sausage and the scallops). Cheese was really really good, as was the bread basket! The chicken sausage was yummy too (although mushy, but we were warned!) but the scallops were just ok. Needed more seasoning perhaps? Overall a great atmosphere, loved the live... More

This was our worst dining experience in Portugal. Scant pours for expensive wine and poor service. I ordered water which came when we were presented with the bill. One of the dishes we ordered - chicken sausage- was mushy and hardly resembled sausage. To be fair, the stuffed mushrooms were delicious and arrived hot- unlike everything else we ordered. I... I've just moved to Lisbon and am delighted to find such a special place. Over 600 Portuguese wines by the bottle or glass. Enthusiastic, knowledgable and very friendly staff. Made me feel very welcome and comfortable as a solo visitor. It's a little gem. I didn't have food but it smelt delicious and the tasting menu is very varied. I'm... More

Perfect localization, and perfect ambient. There was a guy playing his guitar. The food was OK but it was kind of expensive for my usual taste. The service was very good at the beginning but afterwards, when it was more crowded, they just ignore us. We wait 30 min for our bill... It's a good place for a glass of... More

Worst diner in Portugal, and the most expensive! Not worth the money! If you just arrived in Portugal, you might think it's ok, but when you compare with all the other place you will have visit, that will become a big over prized disappointment. We took the Surprise menu for 2, as it was recommended by our server. What a... More

Grapes and Bites, a totally apt name except it should have been called Incredible Portuguese GRAPES wines and Fabulous BITES. Don't know your wine, ask Riccardo. They only serve Portuguese wines. And as for the food, sorry for the picture with all of it eaten, but it didn't last long enough to get photographed!! Plus if this is your first... More

We enjoyed a tapas style lunch here with meats and cheeses. We were the only ones in but perhaps it gets busy in the evening. Pleasant staff. Lovely food.

Our companions ordered the "Surprise" sampler of hot and cold tapas - €44 for two people - and found it very disappointing. Sardines right out of the can, salmon and cream cheese roll-ups(!), and other uninspired items were typical of the offerings. Their desert was a straight-out-of-the-60's chocolate fondue. We had the cod soufflé-interesting but basically tasteless, Pork cheeks and... More

One of the best restaurant experiences I've had. Our waitress was energetic and worked with a smile. We just had a meat and cheese board but it was out of this world - one of the best I've had. Wine selection is huge so we asked the waitress for her recommendation and we were not disappointed. I'd love to go... More

Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.
