I have been to Grapes & Bites various times. Once for dinner and a few others just for drinks. I enjoy the atmosphere - there is live music (singer with a guitar) every day: can be English, Portuguese, French,.... whatever the singer feels like. The food is quite good even though I found the portions a little small. If you... More

Hola all, We had dinner here on our only night in Lisbon and it was fantastic. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and once we ordered our food, he paired the wine expertly. I had the stuffed peppers and the rest of the group had the sausage and cheese platter, mussels, etc. All were excellent. Once we... More

We came here to try the green wine. We both made our wine selection and then decided to try a cheeseboard with our drinks. The waiter took the time to fully explain bothe wines and the cheeses. All were gorgeous, we adored the creamiest of the cheeses. This is a very beatiful wine bar with food and wine of the... More

Went with my son around 11pm. Lovely meal of 2 dishes each (more than enough) washed down with a nice glass of house red. Lovely friendly welcome and great atmosphere - highly recommended (especially with the 20% discount as we were staying in their hostel above).

Went there as this place was recommended from local friends. It's decoration is simple which is fine for me and for a resto -bar in the old distinct of the city. They have a great variety of wines, including Porto's... You'll need some help from their friendly staff to choose. Don't miss their delicious dishes too + ask them about... More

We stopped here after a hot day visiting the Belem museum district of Lisbon. Our host Riccardo recommended an excellent white wine. We chose to stay for tapas and another bottle, equally good but different. There was live music and a wonderful atmosphere. We couldn't have been better looked after. We will go back.

We ate here as we was staying in the B&B received a 20 % discount. A very busy place with an extensive wine menu. Seemed very popular we booked so had no problem getting seated so would certainly recommend if possible as you may be disappointed. Food great and the service was fantastic

What a fabulous find, we loved this place, trendy with an amazing selection of wines and a great selection of Tapas style food. Service was good, we will definitely be back on our next trip to Lisbon.

This place is well worth a visit. The clue is in the name as it offers a massive choice of wine and just a handful of items to eat from the menu. The food however is simple and good, try the sardines on toast - more than enough for a meal if followed by a cheese plate. We also enjoyed... More

We came here with our two kids (5 months and 3 years old). We had great food and an especially huge choice of marvellous wines. This was the third year we visited grapes and bites and we will definitely come back. Visit and enjoy!

Description
Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.
