We stopped at grapes & bites after dinner for a glass of wine before going back to our hotel. Once we sat down despite having just finished a 2 courses meal we couldn't resist from ordering the octopus salad. This was an unique dish with fully balanced flavours and well matched with our glass of wine. Definitely the standards of... More

It may be a small restaurant but unless you go inside you have no ideea what you are missing. The food was excellent (we ordered octopus), and it arrived fairly quick. The best part was the wine and the service. As there were a lot of options, the server asked if he could suggest something and of course we said... More

I truly loved everything about this place! From the cute tables and simple decoration, to the delicious fresh goat cheese, chorizo, jams and rose wine! The blonde waitress who attended us was soo nice and honest (she didn't have the wine we ordered and suggested a similar one, which she tasted first and was honest enough to admit it was... More

Been here each time I've come to Lisbon and they've never disappointed. If you're looking for a great glass of wine at anytime of the day (after 12pm!!!) then head here and talk to the staff who are all fluent in many languages and extremely knowledgeable about wine and port. It was at Grapes and Bites that I first discovered... More

Stopped in after a long day of sight seeing. My friend had recommended it and she was sure right. What a gem!!!! The waiter was very knowledgeable and the cheese plate was so delicious. I'd highly recommend it! Live music and a very relaxed atmosphere!

We found this place after a long day in the sun. We ordered a Portuguese Pinot noir (unusual) and I have to say it's the best Pinot noir I've had. I had the peppers plate which was ok and my partner had the cheese board which was amazing. Very generous portions of 6 cheeses and some pumpkin jam with bread... More

Came here on a stag do, 10 guys, first thing we did after checking in hotel. Was expecting a quick meal, ended up staying 3 hours, brilliant waiters, drinks flowing, every food course was excellent, all the wines and ports were amazing, and for unbelievably good value. Someone suggested we avoid this place, I don't know what they were thinking.... More

I have been to Grapes & Bites various times. Once for dinner and a few others just for drinks. I enjoy the atmosphere - there is live music (singer with a guitar) every day: can be English, Portuguese, French,.... whatever the singer feels like. The food is quite good even though I found the portions a little small. If you... More

Hola all, We had dinner here on our only night in Lisbon and it was fantastic. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the extensive wine list and once we ordered our food, he paired the wine expertly. I had the stuffed peppers and the rest of the group had the sausage and cheese platter, mussels, etc. All were excellent. Once we... More

Description
Located in the heart of Lisbon, in a mandatory visit neighborhood as the Bairro Alto, just a few meters away from Chiado, you find in this Wine House a committed team in a relaxed, family atmosphere, accompanied by live music that animates every night. Between the passion for wines of Antonio Baeta and the passion for cuisine of Silvia Mendes, we get the alchemical mixture of two key ingredients that make the success of this house. On the one hand, more than 1000 national references between white, red, green, sparkling and fortified wine, where the vast majority can be tasted by glass, or even taken home bottled, on the other hand, a continuous search for the best Portuguese delicacies turned into simple dishes, but with great flavor, from cheese and sausages boards with homemade jams, to mussels or scallops gratinated, seared canned tuna, or even cod or octopus in the oven. Upstairs this XVIII century building, fully redone, you can find a room for the night in a cozy environment. Six bedrooms, some with private bathroom, a mixed dormitory, a common living room, a common kitchen where breakfasts are served or where you can cook your own food and an outdoor patio, make of this Hostel a selected place for those who like to enjoy the night of Bairro Alto, and want to stick around. Enjoy every moment of the two spaces in a relaxed way and with quality. Wine House Open every day from 12h00 to 24h00.
