Sharing a table with strangers seemed a bit daunting but the fun of the group that we joined really made our evening. Great chat and lots of laughs. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely and our hosts were friendly and welcoming. The food was...More

If you love tradition, actually even if you don't, you should try to listen to Fado. This is a nice, cosy place. We even made friends from Turkey and Austria, as we were next to each other.

This small family run restaurant is a fantastic. A fun evening with plenty of food, wine and great music. The highlight for me was the 12 string guitarist... an amazing talent.

A small family owned restaurant that will give you a great meal, great music and fun atmosphere. Reservations are a must so book it many days in advance. It is in the old section which is my favorite neighborhood in Lisbon. Be sure to be...More

Marina and Duarte are truly amazing - the hospitality, the food, the atmosphere, the fado music. Everything was way beyond out expectations. It was like being in a Portuguese home and really connected with both Marina and Duarte. Will definitely be back. Highly highly recommended.More

We cannot compare it with other Fado venues in Lisbon but our experience with Ms. Ana Marina and Mr. Duarte was friendly and welcoming to their Fado home in Alfama. The place was sold out! (You certainly need to book table in advance). We sat...More

What could we potentially have done wrong to deserve such a bad fado experience. While the food and service was good it took until 11.00pm to start the fado. Or something that should be the fado. The two guitar players asked the public to start...More

Dear Mrs. Elke I'm surprised by your comment and rating, after all you were really nice and how much food left nothing. You know very well that the table of the Dutch who were behind you and the Spaniards by the window did not shut...More

It was tasty and it was fun. The food was traditional and copious. The owners/performers were wonderful. A tiny and cosy place, but not too small. I recommend it!

On off the least pretentious of Lisbon's Fado restaurants is also one of its finest. Hosts Duarte Santos and Ana Marina treat guests as family and the homely ambiance is warming and inviting. The homemade gastronomy is noted for its textures and flavours and generous portions, with the seafood cataplana (stew) a much-lauded feast. The menu is limited, but here it's all about the quality of the food. As for the entertainment, this is local fado at its most authentic -- the singers and musicians have known each other for years, and the performance is heartfelt and genuine. Quite often, diners are invited to join in which makes the evening truly memorable.
