We celebrated my wife's birthday and wanted a special evening. The booking process is very efficient and the warnings about what to expect and when and where to go to get there are very clear. For us it was 3 stops on the train and...More

Good food, good music and great atmosphere: first you can eat a delicious fish and than you can listen the typical portuguese Fado!!

I would strongly recommend this place! Such a great night and lovely hosts! Me and my family were aware that is a family-run restaurant, and for us that is exactly what makes it so special. So, go for it! The atmosphere, fado, food, singers, guitars...More

The food is fine...simple (perhaps a little too salty), but that's not why you go...it's for the show. And the show begins the minute you walk in the door. There is an actual show after the meal (very fun), but the family makes the entire...More

Our first fado experience and this place was highly recommended. It's a small space so don't expect to have a lot of room. Just going to the washroom is kind of an expedition. But the owners, who are also the fado's interpreters and musicians are...More

It was a very good experience, like a family-dinner and with a good introduction to Fado-Music, we can recommend it. The hosts are very friendly. The price was fair, 50 euro pr. person.

On off the least pretentious of Lisbon's Fado restaurants is also one of its finest. Hosts Duarte Santos and Ana Marina treat guests as family and the homely ambiance is warming and inviting. The homemade gastronomy is noted for its textures and flavours and generous portions, with the seafood cataplana (stew) a much-lauded feast. The menu is limited, but here it's all about the quality of the food. As for the entertainment, this is local fado at its most authentic -- the singers and musicians have known each other for years, and the performance is heartfelt and genuine. Quite often, diners are invited to join in which makes the evening truly memorable.
