We stopped off for a light dinner and pastry while out for an afternoon walk. The waiter seemed to be put out by us sitting down for a meal. While he joked and laughed with locals, us foreigners seemed to be an inconvenience. When we...More

This was the second time we have visited this place. You might wonder why as previously we gave it 1 star, we went back because they had a nice cake called Rochas. Unfortunately this time the cake wasn't as good but the service was a...More

Just to be fair, the waiters and waitress were tourists friendly and the service was good. The food was really below average: my daily set lunch was 'beef pasta' and mango juice. The beef pasta was not delicious and the meat was like left over...More

Your typical cafe across Rossio Square that serves a good cup of coffee throughout the day. It doesn't open until 7:00 AM as do all the other cafes in Lisbon. That's inconvenient for us early risers. Served is the usual bill of fare as all...More

I ordered 2 pastries and a coffee. The pastries tasted very nice, no doubt about it, but one of the pastries was charged as a piece of tart later on (although it came from the pastry shelf). The price range to eat in or outside...More

Awful undercooked food, avoid at all costs. We ordered three meals and all would make you sick. They did give free wifi. Which allows me to write this review.

After touring central Lisbon we stopped in Cafe Gelo for coffee and a snack. Both the food and service were good. Pleasant outdoor seating in the main square.

Only ate breakfast here, can't speak for the other meals. Plenty of options and fairly quick. Good coffee. Nothing to complain about.

Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site,
Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply
"Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake
construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755
earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its
name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in
Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the
Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the

This cafe-restaurant was founded 80-100 years ago. It is at a nice square in Lisbon. They have their own baked pastries. My favorite is their special roll with cheese and sausage - for 1 EUR. They have inner and outer dining area. Their prices are low-medium. E.g. broccoli cream soup for 1 EUR.
