A little gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of busy Belem. The staff were so helpful on wine choice, which was excellent. Many thanks to chef Ricardo Gonçalves, the food was wonderful. My main course of duck with morcilla sounds a strange mix, but it was a delightful surprise and delicious.

Gourmet dining in a tiny wine house with local wine. Must Visit ... The sketches on the wall (see pic) are a bit off but who cares ....

This is an intimate and charming wine bar and restaurant tucked away in a narrow alley in Belem. With 7 tables and 3 seats at the bar you need to book. It is very clear that this establishment values quality and service above turning tables. Happy to answer any questions regarding this...just write. Everything was perfect from the bread to... More

I would definitely go back but that said I think the food is secondary to the wine. Everything is inventive and made with lots of attention but we found the combinations to not always land. The wine pairings are fantastic and for me the highlight (and the reason we went). Attentive, warm service.

The restaurant is small and my husband and I shower up without reservations. Fortunately there was one small table left and we were seated immediately. I started with the salmon tartar. It was great. My husband had a sausage appetizer and loved it too. I tried his and thought the flavour was too strong for me. For my main course... More

Sorry.... You are going to find it hard to better our experience here. We happened across this place online, then I booked a table as they had very few and was worried we might not get one...when we arrived it was quiet but in half an hour on a Sunday they had a full restaurant. It just so happened to... More

Great food and wine! Reasonable prices. Friendly and proactive staff. Gives good advice for pairing wines with dishes chosen. Would come again without a shadow of a doubt.

Four days in Lisbon and this was our best meal so far. Beautiful food well prepared and served, with taste sensation in all courses. Even the chefs amuse bouche was fab. Wine selection was made for us even though we were offered the binoculars. Just great value for money and with a friendly service. Don't miss out on this culinary... More

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. A reasonably small but varied menu. I had duck, my boyfriend the cod. Both very tasty with some unusual but very complementary flavours. The service was great - friendly, efficient but subtle. The "wine list" is a set of binoculars so you can read the labels of the wines on the shelf.... More

Staying in Belem

Neighborhood Profile
Belém is the "capital of the Portuguese Discoveries" and a photographer's paradise. You can spend an entire day exploring this neighborhood: monuments (Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, Monument to the Discoveries), museums (Coach Museum, Centro Cultural de Belém) and breathtaking views of the Tagus river will make your visit worth your time. Belém also offers a variety of restaurants and cafes, namely the famous - and delicious - "Pastéis de Belém" (typical Portuguese custard tarts; make sure you buy an extra box of those!). Easily accessible from Lisbon's historic center, Belém is a must-do, especially if you're spending more than one day visiting the Portuguese capital.
