Casa da Mo is a good restaurant in the center of Lisbon, near Praça da Figueira. The restaurant is well appointed and quiet, and the staff is kind and careful. The dishes are not typical but tasty and well presented. The prices are in the average of euro zone prices but maybe a little higher than the average prices in... More

We asked the hotel we lived in for a meat restaurant and they recommended this. Service was good and the wine was excellent but the shrimp in garlic was over cooked and the maine course, Lamb chops whit french fries, was so salty and the lamb felt Like I was eating shoe soles. I dont recommend this restaurant, it's a... More

Great location with reasonable prices, we enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the seafood caldeirada (fish stew with potatoes and veggies) and it was delicious. Many places don't offer it every night of the week, but this place did, and we loved it. The waiter said it was "exactly how his grandmother would make it", which I have no reason... More

this restaurant was directly opposite our hotel "lisboa tejo" ...it was by far one of our best meals in lisbon. we had visited a lot of restaurants recommended by our rick steves guidebook, however this restaurant was recommended by our hotel receptionist. we went there twice - and all our meals were hits. On my last I had the house... More

Beautiful location and polite staff, recommended for a dinner for two. Really special food and good red wine. I will certainly return here when I'll go to lisbon again.

We had just got to Lisboa and we were looking for a place to eat some fish and not very full of turists. We found Casa da Mo and it looked good for us, so we decided to give it a chance. It was a great surprise! We ordered cod in two different recipes and both were very tasty. My... More

Friendly waiters are awaiting you in "Casa da Mo". After the typical bread appetizer, I chose the octopus, which was delicious. This is the place to try some special food, because they prepare it very well! Excellent place to have dinner!

The restaurant is very quaint with an exposed stone wall. They have a diverse menu but seemed to specialize in fresh fish. They keep all the fish in front window & as people order it, they take it out of the display case. The only downside of fresh fish is that once they're out, you have to make a second... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
