We had lunch here. We first sat outside at the entrance but realized that the garden was really cosy so we sat there which was a great chose! We took the sandwiches with avocado, spicy sausage and the tatziki! All dishes were lovely as lunch....Also loved the homemade lemonade. Cosy and nice place to sit and eat!More

The menu I glanced at while on a walk to the River was appealing and the food at dinner was worthy of the description. Being the first Sunday during Lent, a lot of locals were not out and about, so we were well attended to...right away and did not need a reservation. Staff was prompt and pleasant. Portions were large and well plated, and all choices were flavorful. The Shrimp with Black linguine was fresh and tasty, and the warm salad was perfect for someone who needed a lighter dish. Dessert of salted caramel mousse was delicious and we wished we didn't decide to share! Prices were very reasonable.More

We sat outside before moving indoors where I enjoyed delicious chicken stuffed with chestnuts and a tasty shake. Service was excellent and the menu offered a great selection of food. Prices were very reasonable and I would highly recommend the Royale Cafe for an authentic...dining experience.More

The Royals Cafe is such an amazing hybrid menu restaurant. It’s simple menu is elegant and satisfying. Small in stature, but rich in flavor and style, make for a special evening. There are so many influences, from Greek to Portuguese, it makes for a dynamic...and exciting experience. We enjoyed the octopus, although we felt there was a bit too much olive oil in the dish. The cod and the blackened linguini with prawns were spectacular. Presentations are simple, with a creative flair that is dynamic and unparalleled. Service is attentive, without overbearing. If you’re in the Chiado district in the shadow of the teatro, this should be your dinner choice. Highly recommended.More

It is a very different restaurant compared with the tourist traps around. The thing I loved is that it is obvious the food is cooked with great care and passion. You will find Mediterranean food mainly presented and cooked in an excellent manner. Compliments to...the very considerate staff! Will certainly come back next time we visit Lisbon.More

We visited here in 2015, not been back to Lisbon since but this place has always stuck in our minds. Sat outside at the back in the courtyard which was lovely and peaceful. The hummus was outstanding and then we had some chicken thighs stuffed...with all kinds which were also amazing. Good mojitos too! Don't think we had room for pudding. Will definitely go back if we return to Lisbon!More

Just walked past - table free outside. Why not? Pasta main was very “Jamie” - delicious and the Spiritual Cod (in filo) is also excellent. Pleasant musical accompaniment by a street saxophonist too. A great find! Don’t expect “fast” food though.

We started with the soup of the day which was a pumpkin, apple. Very good and original. We also had the traditional hummus. My main course was the OCTOPUS “À LAGAREIRO”. I enjoyed this dish but I am a big fan of grilled octopus and...this was prepared slightly different. My wife had the "warm salad" and really enjoyed that. We had a delicious $18E bottle of wine. Service was good. The restaurant is in a fun area of the city - Chiado.More
