The food was delicious and worth it! Same as the other reviews regarding the limited space and the wait but it is worth it. The seafood with rice was great!!! It was a great stop to our exploring and the soup was excellent. Very inexpensive for how delicious it was.

This is a popular restaurant for seafood with rice. The place is small so there will be a wait for seat and food. Only order seafood with rice on the food menu and nothing else.

If you want to dine in this restaurant, make sure you arrive for the opening at 7 pm; 10 min later means you might have to wait 1 hour before a table will be available. The seafood is very good and the prices are quite cheap. Good selection of local wines.

First the restaurant is small, fit only around 30person each time. I got there around 7pm and it was almost full house. I met a lot of Korean tourists there, seem like their seafood rice is very popular among Asian. Arriving late may need to queue up, and worth to queue! Reasonable price with fresh seafood! I enjoyed so much!... More

This restaurant reminded me the fairy tale of Andersen about naked king. First of all, it is quite dirty. The old guy spits on his fingers, wipes them off his pants and then he takes the pot to bring it to the table using the same hands! It almost looks like his fingers were inside the pot. And his pants... More

No problem in getting a table and even got a welcoming smile from the cook/son but a little more difficult from efficient but silent dad the waiter. Actually caught him cracking a half smile later. The rice and seafood stew of crab and prawns in a good tomato based sauce was exceptional and served straight from the kitchen in a... More

This very small restaurant is in many charts so it's natural that it attracts the curiosity. And for us it's worth the trip. The place : Very few tables and a staff that seems to come directly from the retirement institute. Don't expect any friendly welcome. Basically if you want to go to this restaurant at least in the evening... More

Hello everyone. This restaurant is an adventure. We tried at 11h35 it was closed. We came back at 11h55 and it was full booked. We waited 1h to have a table while local Portuguese have 4 tables always free to welcome them. The truth is that half of the restaurant is for tourists with a long queue. The other half... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighborhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
