We were lucky, because came before the show and find a free table. Great place to drink wine and listen. There are tables, which have not seen the scene, although they can be positioned more conveniently. It was here that I became a fan of Fado. Fadishtu broke my heart.

This restaurant is a bit in side the city , but not far from the bay area. It is located near to a Church. Can be accessed by walk.

This is a total tourist place but it's great for business groups and travelers. We had a group of 24 people in Lisbon for a business trip and we came here for dinner on a Saturday night, when we arrived at 8pm it was not terribly busy, but soon it was packed. We had caldo verde, different breads and sausages... More

Last minute, at the recco of our hotel, my husband and I made a reservation at Clube de Fado for a Friday evening. We didn't know much about the atmosphere and also per our hotel's recommendation had tapas elsewhere first and went here just for dessert and wine. Lucky us, we got a table RIGHT next to the performers and... More

Club de Fado Where do I begin , this place is a must go - Authenic Purtgese food and the Best Fado music in Lisbon if not in probably all of Portugal! The atmosphere of this cozy restaurant just adds to the Fado experience when the red light comes on you prepare for the musicians to enter and you will... More

Go to this club for wonderful Fado music which would get a 5 rating. We couldn't have been any closer to the performers without touching them. They do rotating sets with different singers - make and female - all brilliant. Food is disappointing so I would eat first and then just have tapas. Servers were friendly and fast. Too bad... More

We were warned that the food was not more than average, but we found it to be good. It a club atmosphere, with close together tables, so you can touch the excellent band and the 4 singers they are so close. Each singer performed 4 songs, and then moved on to another club I think. Do check out Fado to... More

We enjoyed our dinner at Clube de Fado and the food was great. We were a large group of almost 40 people and enjoyed our evening immensely. The wine and the food were very good and certainly listening to the fado singers was outstanding. Don't miss it.

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighborhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
