The air conditioner continued to drip onto my wife's shoulder, the table wobbled (despite the waitress's attempt to balance it and then they brought the wrong main course (the waitress said she pushed the wrong button). We went on Friday evening and the service was very slow (but attentive). Apart from all those negative points, the food was good and... More

We had a group dinner booked for 25 people for 8.30pm and in the end we were almost 30 and running half an hour late due to a transport issue. The restaurant were very understanding and when we arrived we found out we actually had our own private dinning room which was a GREAT location for a private party. We... More

Should you fancy a one-to-one dinner, this restaurant is one the place to consider in Lisbon. The scenery matches the overall romantic atmosphere and the quality of the food and service is up to expectations.

Restaurant in a sort of romantic setting, set in a very old building. Food was pretty good, and service quick and attentive.

Nice decor and quiet. Wait staff was great. We had sea bass baked in a salt crust. It was very good and moist and not salty. The meal, a cocktail, a bottle of wine, and tip was about €110 for the two of us. Highly recommend.

This is a Lisbon must. You need reservations and it is touristy, yet it's worth it. The food was really good. I would definitely visit again.

The restaurant has beautiful decor, lovely and knowledgeable waitstaff. For Portugal, it's a high end restaurant. Our tab was 240 Euros for 4 persons including 2 bottles of superb red wines from the Douro including a fabulous 2011 Quinta Dos Murcas Reserva. Caprese salad was perfect. The Tiger Prawns were about 3/4 of a lb each and cooked to perfection.... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel Teatro & how glad we were that they did. From arrival to leaving the service was outstanding. A warm welcome from Barbara (or side show Bob)as my Husband called her to Fernando the Head waiter. His service and delivery was superb. The food was tasty & plentiful. Altho the restaurant was... This restaurant was recommended by the hotel we were staying at. It was our first night in Lisbon. The area was in a great old part of the city. There were lots of shops and pretty streets along the way. When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted warmly. We had a delicious meal, and enjoyed the atmosphere. We... More

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighborhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
