This very small typical tavern is located in the Bairro Alto in downtown Lisboa. The chef is very peculiar but it cooks wonderfully.

The food here was incredible and amazingly affordable. If you want to eat here you have to get there before 8pm, after 8pm it fills up and stays that way until around 11pm. This is a local spot, but they did have a menu in english for us.

This small restaurant in Barrio Alto seats about 20 people. It opens at 7:00 which is when we arrived. By 8:00 it was full. The boss speaks loudly to you in Portuguese fat the start, asking if you'd like fish or meat. When we said fish, he brought out a tray filled with very fresh fish and suggested Croaker which... Came in to eat last night. Very friendly waiter but waited a long time for order to be taken. Ordered wine and garlic prawns speciality followed by calimares. Waiter looked unsure and came back to tell us no calimares. Got menu back and ordered sole. Sorry no sole. Have been in for 20 mins at least and still no wine... More

This is a fantastic folksy, inexpensive wee eatery in the Bairro Alto. Food is fresh and plentiful and its traditionally Portuguese... Go there to eat heartily and move on because it's tiny and there's always a queue to get in!!!

Was at this restaurant about 2 years ago (there is previous review from me). Was back in Lisbon and couldn't wait to go back for the big salad with cheese and fruit. Ordered the salad with cheese from menu and a pork dish. Waited a long time and no food. Finally pork came and it was good. Asked about salad.... More

Nice decor and nice ambiance but food was greasy and very salty. It seems to target tourists with the Portuguese decoration but prices are quite high compared to some local restaurants. We ordered battered fish and some fillets were raw inside. It was a good experience overall and the staff is nice but we won't be back there again.

Located in the charming Bairro Alto district of Lisbon, Cantinho do bem Estar is a hard to find little gem of a place. Keep your eyes peeled...it is nothing to look at from the outside, with only a little sign to identify it. It is a small (seats about 20 tightly), but exceedingly charming little restaurant that is more than... More

The food is really good. It is unhealthy (too much salt, oil, everything is almost deep fried) but it taste delicious and is quite a different. The restaurant is tiny, everyone was squeezed in and because it is v popular it gets very full very quickly and took more than an hour for the food to arrive. It is all... More

Fantastic tiny real authentic restaurant. We had sea bass - two entire whole fish on a platter with simple vegetables and strawberries. The chef emerged from the tiny kitchen to serve us. Can't recommend too highly
