Traditionally cooked seafood and delicious fresh salads and soup! Our server was a lovely man and all of the food fantastic! Highly recommend for a great lunch or dinner in The Alfama!

This is where you want to go for your meal of traditional and beautifully cooked seafood while you are in Lisbon. It's beautifully cooked, low fuss seafood. Served with potatoes and salad, very simple but delicious. Great cheap wine and sangria. Excellent service. Very simple outdoor setting. Get in by 8 unless you want to face hefty queues!! Although they... More

We bumped into this place by accident while exploring the Alfama district. What a nice surprise! The atmosphere was great, very lively and full of local people. The food was simple but excellent, same as the sangria. The prices were very reasonable as well. I would definitely come again!

We got here jus tin time before the lunchtime rush. Once we were wasted the line started forming and once the food came we knew why. Great typical food well prepared. You eat outside under shade, good in the summer heat. Portion are big and we over ordered. But it was so good we had to eat it all. Spicy... More

The fish was excellent. The grill was right there on the patio, so there was a casual atmosphere and the staff was so friendly.

My wife and I went on a run in the morning with a Portuguese runner also training for a race. He recommended Pateo 13 as his favorite place for fresh fish in all of Lisbon. The food lived up to those expectations! Grilled sardines and grilled sea bass were perfectly charred and flaky. I never really enjoyed sardines, but Pateo... More

For 26 euro my husband and I enjoyed grilled fish and steak, with bread cheese and sodas. You find the place from the barbecue smell. Awesome waiters, so incredibly friendly.

Great food, great atmosphere and all of this for a great price. Be there at 7 because it gets very crowded!

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighborhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
