The staff are lovely and attentive, service very quick and food was really good value but above all else it was beautifully cooked on the spot for you. Nothing at all like the Indian food you’d get back where we come from (UK). Delicious and and perfect. The only thing was that we only found them on the day before we were due to go home. :(

It was not in our plan to eat Indian food in Lisbon but we are glad we did. The choice of dishes will be very familiar to Brits. The quality of ingredients and cooking is as good as anything on offer in Lisbon and to top it off it is good value. The decor is contemporary and the service efficient and friendly. The food is cooked to order and we were asked whether we wanted it plain or spicy. If you choose spicy that is what you will get. We left feeling full and happy.

We were a group of 4 holidaying in Lisbon and this restaurant was recommended by our hotel nearby. We checked in to find out if the chef's cooked Punjabi Food and we're delighted to hear the waiter speak Punjabi and the comms were also Punjabi. We had dhal, mixed vegetable dish and chicken curry together with tandoori roti and naan. Three food was authentic, home style cooking with good quality vegetables and meat. Three slices were balanced and the service was superb. It's a small resistant that is homely in its setting and cosy. We'll be happy to return on our next visit.

Mostly everything was average. The dahl makhini tasted fine but was a bit sweet and the chilli paneer has a bit of flavour and can be cut easily. The waitress was friendly but didn't have that extra charm. What was the only let down is that the food was overpriced and that it was served in small portions.

As a Muslim, I found it difficult to find halal food options. I called this restaurant ahead of time to see if they served halal meat. The owner said that they serve halal chicken. Based on the above, we ordered the chicken biryani and chicken jalfrezi. The chicken biryani was good and tasty but not a traditional biryani that I was hoping for. After eating simple fish dishes in Lisbon, I desperately was looking for an authentic meal. This dish, wasn't authentic, but it would suit the non Asian clientele well. The prawn jalfrezi was tasty too but for me, it was slightly on the sweet side. If you like the sweet and sour flavour, then you would love this. To accompany prawn curry I initially ordered one roti, I was surprised to see that the roti was on the small side, and this is quite different to what I am used to in the UK. The 1 roti wasn't enough for the curry so I ended up ordering another one. Overall, this restaurant is good and someone with a non South Asian background would enjoy the food. I sincerely hope that the chicken that we ate was halal, and it wasn't a way to ensure that we go to the restaurant. I will be honest and say that I was a bit suspicious that this restaurant served halal chicken, particularly when there isn't a big demand for it.

We loved everything we ordered. Service was great as well. Asked for extras like adding green chillies to garlic naan and they were more than happy to make it for us! Good value for your money. If looking for Indian in Lisbon, I highly recommend this place.

The food was delicious. The portions are small but I think that’s a good thing for Indian food. You will be satisfied nonetheless. The complementary papadam sometimes can be a little old but the sauces are spot on. They need to update the prices on their window, two euros less than the actual menu inside the restaurant! Sneaky. Around 8,50 for non meat dishes. 10 and more for meat dishes. Get the garlic naan. You could spend around 25 euros on a meal for two people including naan, rice two main dishes (no meat) and tap water.

We had the chana masala and chicken tikka for takeaway and it wasn't what we were hoping for compared to the Indian food we normally enjoy. The chana was a bit oily and the tikka was much sweeter than I'm used to. For what it's worth, we've only recently moved here from America, so our experience is with American-based Indian restaurants. Don't forget to order rice! The garlic naan was very good.

We are visiting Lisboa and we’re curious about Tamarind as it is near our hotel. I’m so glad we decided to try it. The food was absolutely delicious, flavorful and fragrant. The service was very welcoming and friendly and it is a very cute place as well. I highly recommend Tamarind!

I have eaten in (literally) hundreds of Indian restaurants all around the UK and in other countries over the last 40 years. The lamb vindaloo I had at Tamarind last night was the best I have ever eaten. The spice level was perfect, and the flavour of the sauce was excellent, as were the pickles I had with my onion bhaji. The service was both efficient and really friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Met my aunt and uncle in Lisbon and last night celebrating my 60th birthday decided to treat us. They knew I had been hinting at Indian food, did we ever luck out. Tamarind is a small restaurant but the smells just walking into the place set my taste buds salivating. The food did not disappoint, it was as flavourful as it smelled. I tried Karachi, which I had never had before, it was incredible. All I can say is if you want Indian food, come here. I won't forget this place, hopefully it doesn't ruin Indian food for me when I get home.

Our family had a wonderful dinner at Tamarind during our vacation in Portugal. This gem will stay on our list for future visits. The staff was very friendly, helpful, attentive, and interactive. The food was some of the best Indian food that we’ve experienced. Ambience was peaceful and welcoming. Thank you for the incredible experience!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in Lisbon. I have been a few times and have always been happy there. Many “Indian” restaurants are Nepali run here. The food isn’t the same. Tamarind has genuine Indian food (or at least British Indian)

Delicious food - fresh, great flavors, not greasy. I highly recommend this spot. The service was gracious…I had lunch on my walk down from Edward VII Park. Tamarind is tucked away right off the main boulevard on a quiet street.

We ordered garlic naan, jeers rice and chicken kurma. Food was delicious and service was friendly. Lucky, Prakash, Rekha and other Indian girl were excellent hosts. Sorry, I forgot her name. Will visit again when I’m in town.
