On Friday night my family and I stumbled upon this restaurant, and a very nice waiter showed us to our outdoor seats. He was friendly and accommodating to our family.
The restaurant across the street seems to owned by the same people, and there was...an older gentleman who seemed to be either the owner or a manager who stood outside the other restaurant. The nice waiter was attentive to our family, and we enjoyed our meal.
It was a great experience the first night, but we should have not tempted fate by returning. The next night we are with our 3 children and we decide to return. Since it was Saturday night the restaurant was a bit more packed. However, there was some space outside the restaurant. The large 6 person table we sat at the night before was only occupied by a single person who was there by himself. The other outside tables on the Aroma side of the restaurant were either occupied by couples, or by a lone eater.
The nice waiter from the night before was nowhere to be seen, and a more amateurish waiter was outside telling us to sit across the street as it was the same restaurant. We asked if we could sit at the same 6 person table we sat in the night before since we were a group of 5, but the confused waiter said there was a man sitting there and he could not be moved. It is rather peculiar that the lone person at a 6 person table could not politely be asked to move to accommodate a larger group. He seemed like a friend or a countryman of the waiter.
The owner or manager from across the street just stood there, and did not seem to mind losing us as customers. There were no other seats outside that would have been comfortable with our family, so we left. We took with us a great deal more business than the guy who was sitting alone at a huge 6 seater table, who clearly could have been politely moved to a double table and been just as comfortable.
We ate elsewhere, and when walking back up the street we saw the same lone person occupying a huge 6 seat table. In all our travels we have seen some bizarre business strategies, but this one is up there with one of the weirdest.More
