Incessant alarm that the owners refuse to fix, despite repeated requests to do so. The expense is clearly more important than the sanity of their neighbours.

It looks like a welcoming, chilled out place with a hippie vibe from the outside but don't be fooled. I was made to feel very unwelcome because I didn't want to order food right away, and 'only' wanted a coffee . We were told in...no uncertain terms we were not allowed onto the roof terrace because I wasn't eating. The roof terrace ban wouldn't necessarily be a problem as I do understand why premium space would be reserved for premium eaters. However, the tone and manner in which the server informed us left a lot to be desired. Plus my friend had actually ordered a 12 Euro plate of food plus drinks so one of us was indeed eating, and not exactly at economy prices! And what if we just wanted to share one plate between us? It wasn't pleasant to be made to feel guilty for not being hungry. The food ordering process was in unnecessarily complicated with no menu, just a long-winded sales pitch with the server talking you though every opinion. If anything, I was after a light snack and everything available seemed to be a larger daily special, priced around the 12 euro mark. The server was actually overly friendly at this point, bordering on intense. However, she soon turned on us when she realised I wasn't keen to eat! When my friend's food arrived the order was wrong; no apology and it look ages to rectify. I had a bite of her food and it was nice enough and well presented, but overpriced for what it was. At the end of the meal we had to go up to the 1st floor to pay and it was swarming with flies. On the plus side the decor was very quirky and cool, but given the unwelcome, fake-friendly attitude of the staff I wont be back. Shame, I live locally and could have been a regular. My advise to House of Wonders would be if you're going for the food only crowd and aren't happy for people to order drinks then make that clearer by changing the concept. At the moment then place presents like an upscale cafeteria. More importantly treat paying customers with a little more respect.More

We went for dinner in this amazing place. The owner explained us the concept of their menu and we then decided what to have. The food was in one word amazing. We are no vegetarians but we can eat this food every day. Everything was...nice and fresh and very well spiced. Also some unexpected creations that worked really well. Will gladly come again.More

Well I’m ashamed to say vegetarian food wouldn’t normally be my choice of cuisine. A friend suggested this restaurant and I agreed to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The food was absolutely amazing! I had an omelette with their fresh mixed salads....Unbelievably tasty and beautifully presented ...an absolute wow! I don’t think I have ever had healthy food that tasted so good. We had one of their fresh juices ( beautiful) and a naughty but very nice tiramisu for pudding. The service was exceptional and sitting outside in the sunshine was the icing on the cake. This healthy but delicious food has now gone to the top of my list here in Cascais. I am going back next week and hopefully before. Thank you to all the staff...you have a new devotee!More

horrible experience! I went to breakfast with my family and from the beginning the attitude of the owner and the waiter was very bad. They did not accompany us to the table and when my mother asked to return a coffee they responded horrible and...not to mention that later I got a quiche that had goat cheese that I cannot eat because I am allergic. I asked him to change it and no one attended us, so we had to go down to talk to the owner and what he did was yell at us and throw us out of the restaurant!!! all this only for change a coffee and ask for something else to eat because I'm allergic! I am the customer and I am the one who is paying for a service and for a meal! Not to mention the high prices. What a disappointment! ZERO recommended !!!!! What a shame!!!!!More

The atmosphere is great. The food is wonderful and so tasty. We love vegetarian, but my spouse is not keen on a lack of meat offerings an he thought the was food delicious and filling. The restaurant offers great fresh juices, beer, wine and yum...desserts! We will be back to Cascais and will always make a point to visit the House of Wonders.More
