If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Cascais, you cannot go far wrong with Hemingway. The food we had was delicious - really fresh food with traditional flavours - and all eaten while overlooking the marina. I would certainly recommend.

My partner and I often visit Cascais and each time we always make a trip to Hemingway. Not only is the food delicious and outstanding each time but the wine selection is fantastic. The host/ owner Pedro is truly wonderful with his knowledge of wines and spirits and each time makes you feel extremely welcome and never rushed. If you... More

Hemingway's is an excellent place to sit and enjoy the view of the Marina. You will have plenty of time to do so as the service is glacially slow. Be sure to get a table outside and at the window to maximize the viewing and schedule your table for sunset. If you can't do both of those don't go; and... More

We've eaten at Hemingway before and the food is as good as ever. The menu hasn't changed in a while, but I suppose it it ain't broke...? Service and welcome are always spot on and our starters of fish soup and hunter's fowl were both excellent displaying great technique and subtle flavours. Mains of veal fillet (huge) with Parmentier potatoes... More

We found this restaurant online so walked round the marina from the main town to find it. On approach it looked like a closed shopping centre but upon arrival we saw a lovely semi-outdoor restaurant/bar. We were quickly seated having been greeted by a very welcoming waitress. They have a lot of little quirky touches such as water-expanding hand towels,... More

What a terrible experience. We, and other diners, had to wait over 45 minutes to have our order taken - we asked several times for a menu and when it eventually came they couldn't even take our wine order. To make matters worse the staff handed out blankets because it was so cold and breezy. We got the impression that... More

Its one of those places that might not be suited to you but probably you should try it at least because the food (I had) was great. Scallops on a bed of risotto (which I wouldn't normally order as it's rare to find a good one outside of Italy) and it was lovely, perfectly cooked. Service seemed a little slow... More

My partner and I visit the Hemingway last night for dinner and I couldn't have been more pleased. The food, a modern twist using traditional ingredients is divine. But what really makes Hemingway stand out from any other restaurant in the area is the service. Pedro, the host, really makes you feel at home, his wine knowledge is only compared... More
