Not sure where the good reviews come from but we had hair in two different dishes and the quality of the food was low key supermarket level. Overall disappointing and below the level of any other place we have eaten at in the area
Located in the middle of the walking street in Cascais this wine/tapas bar has an incredible selection of Portuguese wines. Have been a few times over the last month and the service has been consistently good, and most of the waiters seem to be quite...knowledgeable about the wines. The tapas menu is two pages and quite mixed even though the quality is not very consistent and some of the dishes (such as the cheese platter and cold cut platter which should be basics) did not impress. Will however return to enjoy a good glass of wine.More
We visited here recently and had a very pleasent evening. We managed to get a table outside without booking which was lucky it seems as the place was very busy. The gentleman who served us was very helpful when it came to the wine list...and sought to find us the best wine for us, tasting a couple before allowing us to decide on one which was excellent and reasonably priced. We went for 5 plates of tapas between us which was enough. The highlight was the squid in tomato sauce which was really tasty. The rest was good (octopus cake, meatballs and chips) but slightly disappointed by chorizo. It was cooked by the table and was extremely smokey so not too our taste. However nice experience overall and would recommend a visitMore
My wife and I stayed at the best hotel in town - the Albatroz in Cascais.
We explored, as you do, on our first day and found this wonderful place for wine and tapas.
Lenny our server, a young chap from Nepal was absolutely amazing...- so helpful - and a credit to the establishment!
Look after Lenny, he is the reason we returned!!More
