Captain's Table

Ratings and reviews

Location and contact

Enjoy our slow cooked food overlooking an amazing sea view. We are a Farm to Table restaurant, fusion of Portuguese, Turkish, and Italian cuisines using Azorean ingredients. We source our ingredients from the local Farmers'Market and do our best to buy organic, free-range and in the case of animals humanely treated. Everything cooked freshly to order. Some say we cook the best fish, but you must try it yourself. Sorry but no fast-food or fries. Just slow cooking! We have a separate vegetarian and vegan menu and we can cater for most diets, including gluten free. Please don't hesitate to enquire.

My group was introduced to this restaurant after our fishing tour recommended we bring in our catch to be prepared for lunch. The owner, Essen, welcomed our rowdy group and expertly prepared our fish. After an afternoon of good food, wine, and company, we decided...More

You know you've come to the right place when you sit down and the server brings you a simple bowl of exquisite olives - with pits - some with stems. At the bottom of the bowl is a tablespoon of tasty olive oil - just...More

Enjoyed an excellent dinner at this seafront restaurant in Angra. Lovely wine selection, bruschetta was really good with lots of tomatoes, onion, garlic, and herbs. We both had a bowl of lentil soup that was seasoned perfectly with cumin. I had the pasta pomodoro and...More

We went 3 times on our week visit! Had to keep coming to get the things on the menu. That and the crew is great and we felt very comfortable there. Excellent food. Good value. Its a must visit for Angra do Heroismo.

Everyone here, from the chef to the staff, is wonderful. The food is amazing, with ample vegetarian options. It provides the kind of homey feeling that you want out of a small island restaurant. Seafood was fresh and delicious. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We found Captain's Table while walking along the sea wall after hiking and in need of a Super Bock! We ordered hummus with pita and garden salads, both of which were delicious. Ricardo, our waiter (and owner?) asked if we had plans for New Year's...More

Few restaurants on Terceira offered more than one or two vegetarian options, let alone a whole full vegetarian/vegan menu like Captain's Table has. Great variety. They couldn't have been more accommodating to our group, from being sensitive to our friend's nut allergy to giving us...More
