We went to have dinner with friends and we focused on shellfish mainly. It was great to try the local seafood, the only thing I thought wasn't the best was Cracas (i tried it in Terceira and the way to prepare it was way better).

The restaurant is located just outside the center of Ponta Delgada (about 25 min). The restaurant serves a variety of (fish) dishes. The restaurant is not cozy. There is a cool atmosphere, it is quiet and the televisions broadcast the news during the service. We...ate the squid. The dish was good. The service was okay. Visited Xitaka for an evening meal when in the area. We really enjoyed the food, drinks and service. Friendly and helpful staff and a nice environment. Highly recommended for a meal when in Ponta Delgada.

We were three people and wanted to eat fresh fish. We were offered a fish for three that was very expensive (this was mentioned as a through-away remark, the exact prize was not given, we made the mistake that we did not ask for the...exact prize which turned out to be 230 Euro). What was even worse, the fish was not well done, many pieces of the meat were raw and it was cold when it was served. We also ordered a soup (prawn cream) which was delivered cold - we needed to send it back to the kitchen. The waiter tried to open the bottle of wine that we ordered and broke the cork. She than said that she will bring a new bottle which was delivered to our table but it was open already. To close the list, one of our deserts was also bad. The air conditioning is far too cold. This restaurant was fabulous. Definitely order the grilled prawns. They were out of the giant prawns so we went with the smaller ones - small? each the size of a lobster tail and just delicious. We came here from a recommendation and I’m so glad we did. The servers were friendly and let us sit outside, even though the dining room was empty. We ordered the shrimp soup and the mariscada 3. Everything was absolutely delicious! The seafood was fresh...and cooked well. If you’re wondering what the filled crab is, they basically fill the shell of the crab with a crab dip and they give you little pieces of toast to eat it with. It wasn’t bad at all, but it was my least favorite thing. I would’ve preferred to have a whole crab to eat, not just the claws. We finished with some of their homemade ice cream and omg that was some of the best I’ve had! There are a lot of places to get seafood on this island but I promise you can’t go wrong with this place.More

If you are looking for a no nonsense restaurant open extended hours this is your place. We wanted to have dinner at a earlier time and fell upon this restaurant. This year we had dinner here when visiting são Miguel ... it was absolutely fantastic to say the least! The employees that work there are amazing in the food is delicious and the prices are perfect the atmosphere is perfect. My husband and I noticed Xitaka while driving by, and decided to give it a try. So glad we did! We experienced lovely service and a tasty meal. Great find! We would highly recommend this restaurant!

Xitaka was one of the few restaurants open on Sundays during our visit to Soa Miguel (Sept. 21). And we are glad we found this restaurant. We were a group of 4. We all had a different main course. They have a nice and varied menu. Fish soups excellent. Only disappointment was limpets which had a bitter, unpleasant taste. We found out that they were frozen, out is season in winter. I don't think that was the problem. It seemed to be the sauce....Our server, Mariza, was terrific (excellent English speaker). She offered excellent advice on ordering. Nice dessert offerings. Their house vinho verde was much better that average, appropriately dry. If full, it could be very noisey.More
